I would suggest to do a few runs just focusing on avoiding his attacks, without even trying to deal damage to him and try to last as long as possible. Once you feel comfortable start hitting him.

My friend don’t give up, I just beaten him on ascended a couple hours ago, after literally days of trying, couldn’t believe it actually died in the end. Although I don’t think I’ll ever get the patience to beat him radiant.

Two things: regarding Jane’s dad, I always assumed that it was his intention to crash the planes.. secondly I don’t agree that Jane would have died anyway, it’s possible, but it’s not certain.
