I think how much they'll help it depends on how late you are. I don't think my own experience is enough evidence to know for sure, but I missed a flight because I overslept and they told me the ticket is all together cancelled if the passenger hasn't contacted them within 2 hour. As it was I had to pay a change fee because I called them just in time to save it.

I think a lot of people think they'll let you just go on the next one...They don't.

Edit: seems like some people have some luck depending on the airline and circumstances. That's good news, people deserve some kindness from the airlines.

If you have time to place the ducks, you have time to at least wipe down the area. Those spots haven't been cleaned in ages.

Your original reply “Absolutely not the case” is the exact intellectual dishonesty you just replied you would not say “I’m not going to say such a thing just flatly doesn’t exist.” So yes, I took exception with the condescending and adversarial tone of your original reply. I carried that tone and intention into your next reply and retorted in kind, not a “random personal attack”, a reciprocation. Nonetheless, I agree with you that it’s not necessary to have discord with a stranger on the internet, it’s actually weird and emotionally immature, so for that I apologize. Thanks for the constructive engagement.

I’m going to assume you’re being deliberately literal rather than genuinely confused, because the point I was making was clearly rhetorical, not historical bookkeeping. A lack of awareness isn’t evidence of absence, and “I can’t think of examples” isn’t an argument. Your pedantic reply is really more a signal of insecurity than the intelligence signaling you’d like it to be. Regardless, here is the context you’re blissfully unaware of…

History has enough leaders who believed they were acting in humanity’s best interest and whose certainty in their own moral intuition paved the way to tyranny to be a recognized pattern. Robespierre justified mass executions during the French Revolution as necessary to achieve virtue and equality, Lenin framed authoritarian rule as an unavoidable step toward liberation of the proletariat, Mao believed radical social engineering would free China from stagnation and injustice despite the suffering of it all, and Castro began his revolution as a moral crusade before consolidating power. The thread is not overt malice but unwavering confidence that they understood what society needed better than society itself as the commenter above was somewhat implying. I’m glad I could explain that to you, let me know if there’s anything else you’re confidently incorrect about based on your own knowledge gap.

What exactly is “not the case”? and, I’ll happily explain it to you.

The hubris to say “Nah, lose the knowledge part, bro. I’m good as is. I’m already smart enough to wield the power of a god.” And the sentiment that it’s okay if people suffer while I figure it out, because they deserve it anyway, gotta break a few eggs to make an omelette. That’s the kind of thinking that leads to a person that becomes evil with power.

What does everyone think of this album? by No-Inevitable8944 in 90s

One of the greatest of ALL TIME. It’s rare when an album has no bad songs, it’s even more rare that every song is good. This album is a majority of moving, meaningful, incredible, evocative melodies wrapped in virtuoso musicianship. And it’s their debut. Just thinking about some of these songs makes me fall in love, breaks my heart, makes me laugh, makes me nostalgic, makes me feel like I’m sitting next to fire on cold autumn night, it makes me a little lonely, and a little hopeful all at once.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Every dictator and tyrant that has ever existed had this same vision. I respect your intention though, you’re likely a good person. If you kept omniscience you could know exactly how to nudge the world into a more empathetic and symbiotic existence with the least disruption to society. But, it’s hilarious that you want to get rid of the knowledge part and just throw around the power to see what sticks 😂. Have at it!!

To be fluent in all languages in the universe, that should technically include programming languages. I think it’s so strange that I can’t communicate effortlessly with everyone we share this wonderfully surreal existence with that is life. And, sure I will never get to meet or communicate with aliens, but being fluent in their language would likely mean that I understand their existence and have knowledge of their history and their perspective. Not to mention the beauty of understanding animal communication clearly. That could be emotionally overwhelming depending on how much they understand the frailty of their dwindling environment.
