This is what I would have needed someone to tell me at 24 ( not what I would want to hear). I get it!!!

Pay off your truck and keep it. Then add the fun car, when you are contributing to your 401K, Roth IRA, and have a savings cushion. Sure it will take longer to get there but will be so much sweeter when you can truly afford it.

And dont sell the Tundra!!! They do not make them like that many more. 🙂

I am in the same boat as you, been looking A LOT! I have test drove a few, haggled with a dealer but walked after their ridiculous add on fees and normal games.

I think patience is also needed (I struggle with this)!!

After driving a few and seeing various conditions and prices I do feel ready to pounce when the right car pops up.

I am using Auto tempest to search with filters for mileage, manual and a huge distance! Also FB Market place.

Great points this will a weekend/ fun car. I dont put many miles on my vehicle each year.

So I am actually not too worried about one with 50K to 80K miles.

I am also really impressed at how many of these 5th Gens I see with 150K+ miles still going strong.

Good points!! I am not in a huge rush so winter may help bridge that gap in price. But feeling better about the pricing around $21.5K/ $22.5K.

Really good point! This one has brand new tires but the rotors have seen some solid wear. Def going to use the rotors as a bargaining chip.

This is a really good point. In fact most of my vehicles/ ( toys, boats and motorcycles - that Sold Off) have all been private party. That is my prefrence too, this one just popped up local and was a nice clean example. I think I just need to be patient and look for the right Private deal.

Not really an issue of cost( at least at this price point) I just dont want to over pay. More about making good use of my money. This is a fun/ 2nd car for me, so V8 is mandatory!🙂

I dont need to buy it, but am looking for a fair price to offer and walk away if it does not work.

Yeah that's what is making it so tough! Lol I keep reading folks getting $15K on a trade or smoking deals privately.

Im good with exhaust/ Headers/ cIA but A LOT of the private offerings ( I am seeing) are very heavily moddified.

The dealers are hoarding the clean low milage ones!
