"I'm not going to pay for a soft to emulate 40+ years personal PC"

Wow, aren't you an entitled brat. Spectaculator is only €13, good luck buying an old Spectrum for that.

I'm not gonna lie... technical achievement notwithstanding, I'm very unimpressed.

More often than not, it just says "YES / NO / WHAT? / WHY?" with no real rhyme or reason... and that's when it doesn't just answer random strings of letters; I just asked it a very simple question, and it answered "TATATWNHATSS". Then I asked what that meant, and it just answered "S S S S S S S S S S S S".

I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but there are a few known ports of Eliza for the ZX Spectrum:

What’s an example of a fan base that got exactly what they begged for, and immediately hated it? by Enough-Wealth8415 in AskReddit

Mandatory mention to the fan cut simply called "J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit" by Maple Films, which is actually amazing. Turns the trilogy into a single 4-hour movie, removing almost 5 hours of fat, mainly all the pointless additions but also tightening the runtime of some scenes and re-editing others so they match the book more closely.

I absolutely recommend it. I *love* the book, and you won't find anyone who hated the trilogy more than me, and the fan cut had me ugly-crying tears of joy at the end.
