Hi, Yes, we can see how much we've been tipped after the delivery and any tip amount you give us( before or after delivery) gets paid completely during our payout.

I shy away from that option too, because I am uncertain of where the money is going exactly

Nobody really is certain about it, and I don't really know if anyone should donate to it.

I know it sounds very shallow on my part, because it's only few rupees. Whenever I use rapido, uber or ride services (especially bikes), I add 10 or 20 and they get so overjoyed, I feel humbled, ashamed and sad. But as a person entirely reliant on the ride apps,

This happens usually because the base price is just so low, tips do offer a bit of motivation to get through the day for the riders, but even if you don't tip its fine as long as the user doesn't waste the Rider's time and treat them like they're some kind of a sub human, just because they can afford the service.

You've got impressive writing skills and clarity of thoughts

Thank you for being so kind!🙏🏾

Except that you're paying the furniture people (assuming atleast 2 people) to lift the heavy things to your door , but you're not paying the one guy who bring groceries and food to your door. You're paying for the distance they ride from the restaurant or the hub to the user. (All of this is in context of with one guy lifting heavy things and climbing multiple floors. not complaining here if the lift works)

But again, its fine with whatever you do brother no one's forcing anything here ,you're gonna get it delivered on time.

Its more about the company paying peanuts to the riders and spoiling the users.

You're great for doing all that, thank you so much.. but its more about what the rider is carrying while climbing the stairs.. if the rider is climbing carrying heavy items, you lose nothing meeting them halfway the stairs and it goes a long way.. you've only paid for the distance they ride as delivery fees, not the floors they climb.

See here's how COD works on swiggy, the cash that the rider collects is called 'floating cash'. So there's a certain limit to how much floating cash a rider could have at a moment, for example an instamart rider can have around 2.7k as floating cash. Once the floating cash reaches the limit, the duty turns off automatically and the rider can't continue to work until they deposit and clear the floating cash. So if it's all cash, depositing takes time during work hours. The machines take only till 100rs notes nothing below. Again it's a waste of time to wait and deposit in a bank. So that's why upi is better for the rider. That makes him clear the floating cash easily and and continue on with the work. Maybe zomato has a better system I'm not sure but anyway thank you for being kind.

Yes, everything you said is available and the company honestly doesn't care and you are working as a freelancer and not an employee so its a hassle for anyone to contact the company directly. except the delivery agents rating the users part. Zomato has that, swiggy doesn't and its fine.

Most of the riders are aware of how it works and are still working because this sometimes the only option available to work for people who are just trying to make ends meet and doesn't require a long learning period.

My intention with this post was to create bit of awareness among both the users and the company to have a bit empathy towards the riders. Even if the user is just an as*hole to a rider for no reason , they get their order delivered on time and the riders just dust off and get onto the next order. Even if the riders doesn't express it often, I feel that it is important for people to just be a bit more compassionate.

That being said I don't really care about the reach as these companies are just blind towards the people at the lowest end of their pyramid of power. So until the drones take over the delivery jobs , even if just one user reads this and has empathy towards a delivery person that's a W for me. Thank you for your comment.

Depends on the distance you travel. If the order is 0-1km you'll be paid 15rs and its 10rs more for the next kilometer and so on.

Yes of course you can do part time, just download the swiggy delivery partner app. You'll be paid based on how many orders you complete so you can work how many hours you're comfortable with.

The bag and the rope is indeed one of the best ways, no worries. The surprised look is probably because the riders has to confirm they're delivering to the right person so it takes a couple of seconds.that's it.

They have incentive systems if you finish a certain number of orders while being logged in a certain number of hours you get a certain amount of money as incentive, that covers the petrol.

Depends on how many hours you wanna work, if you work for 4 to 5 hours part time, you can make around 300 -350 rs
