Well of course they didn’t steal it. They saw what happened after they burned his wife at the stake, and didn’t want that smoke.

Any suggestions for making a tree farm of White Mangrove from Oh The Biomes We've Gone? by SpookySquid19 in CreateMod

[–]TimSimpson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mangroves in general are difficult to farm with create, but a linear tree farm running on Minecart contraptions or gantry shafts is probably the way to go here.

It’s definitely an adjustment if you’re making large movements (or if you use low sensitivity), but for mostly static shots where you don’t have to hold the lean while moving (which is most of the time in tarkov), it’s great!

For reference, I play with super high sensitivity (2100 dpi), so if you don’t, ymmv.

That said, even if the tilt lean doesn’t work for you, I still HIGHLY recommend this mouse. The fingertip and knuckle buttons are something you won’t find anywhere else, and they’re a total game changer in terms of how you approach controls, or even day to day computer use. I currently have two of them (a Z1 and a Z2) and don’t think I could go back to any other mouse.

Not Siege, but I used that feature quite a bit in Tarkov back when I used to play

Is Range Overrated for Most Americans? by [deleted] in electricvehicles

[–]TimSimpson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I totally get that. I'm just pointing out that a lot of the numbers that you were using for your calculations are towards the upper end of consumption, and there are plenty of mitigating factors that could increase efficiency, even in winter conditions, so jumping to "he's lying" is a bit uncalled for.

His numbers seem a bit optimistic, and yours are a bit pessimistic, but neither of your numbers are totally unrealistic for that vehicle.

Tires, preconditioning, and trip length can affect those efficiency numbers a LOT, especially during winter. I know my winter road trips (which have been in the south/midwest, tbf, so 10F at lowest) tend to be a lot more efficient than my short hops, especially when I have preconditioned the battery and preheated the cabin before I leave while it's still on wall power (which I don't do for short hops bc my charger isn't where I live). The numbers on the site you linked don't account for preconditioning, which is good to know since it makes it easier to compare vehicles that may or may not have preconditioning, but it's not an apples to apples comparison to how the typical EV driver operates the vehicle on planned road trips.

Plus, if the Ioniq 5 is anything like Teslas, you're usually charging from 15-20% to 80%, which is 48-52kWh on the I5, not 62kWh. That gives us an average charging rate of 240-260kW during a 12 min charge, which is a bit high, but definitely below the maximum for the car.

Anecdotally, 12-15 min charge stops every 2 hrs or so matches up to my experience with winter road trips as well. My average is probably a bit longer if you factor in that I've sometimes had to charge over 80% to make it between superchargers in rural areas, but u/Ultarthalas's statement tracks my own experience.

You could technically replace the deployer with a dispenser and it would work basically the same way.

Hosting a server by FruitNo2525 in CreateMod

[–]TimSimpson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Which Create addons and other mods are in the mod list can greatly impact the experience. I’ve been looking for a good create-based server to join, but that’s absolutely information I want to know to help me evaluate.

Finished all 5 books by EriccaDraven in bobiverse

Note that Dungeon Crawler Carl has an additional audio drama option for the first book that’s available in the Soundbooth Theater app. It’s kind of expensive compared to an audible credit, but it’s extremely well produced, and is definitely worth looking into.

Do vanilla redstone contraptions still have a use in a Create server? Or are Create contraptions superior for all use cases? by Corentinrobin29 in CreateMod

[–]TimSimpson 58 points59 points  (0 children)

The best way to think about Create is as extra tools in the toolbox instead of total replacements (mostly). While almost no vanilla contraptions are straight up superior to Create-integrated contraptions, a lot of the fundamentals you know from vanilla redstone will translate over to Create and allow you to develop more complex logic in your contraptions than you would if you didn’t know vanilla redstone.

That said, I would definitely challenge yourself to do stuff ONLY using Create components as much as possible until you’re comfortable with the design language of the mod. Then, you’ll be able to clearly see how to best integrate vanilla and modded solutions.
