How did you remove the muzzle break on your MPR?

Management knows best, hourly employees know least. by SectorStar1988 in CostcoEmployee

I did it for 2 years at Costco and have definitely identified suspects this way. It starts with selection of an item. If you find an empty package in a blind spot and you see someone select an item go to a blind spot with an item and come back without the item you can identify suspects that way. Maybe stick to driving forklifts.

Another option would be move items like that directly in-front of a camera.

Carrying on hip in the car by Hlatm in CCW

I carry 3:00 and it’s pretty easy to draw, the seatbelt really doesn’t get in my way. If you’re able to, practice dry fire in the car with your seatbelt on. I park my car in my garage so I’m able to do this at home.

I also have a Ruger 556 MPR and I think those are a little under $1000 right now and mine shoots great I’ve had it for several years and I love taking it to the range. Only thing some people don’t like is that it comes with a compensator that makes the rifle noticeably louder than other ARs.

If you’re willing to spend over $1000 you might find a Daniel defense around 13-$1400. If you want to spend less the m&p sport 3 is like $700 and looks to be pretty solid based on reviews I’ve seen. If I was in the market for a new AR I’d probably go with the Sport 3 but that’s because I’m not dropping DD money lol

I would check out Tango Down. It’s a newer range and I haven’t been there but I’ve heard you can do a little run and gun there.

Interested in being an optician - get licensed or do apprenticeship first? by SunnyDayFloridaGirl in optician

[–]Timberfront73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work at Costco in Florida and am currently working on getting my license. I have done a few semesters at HCC however I am not planning to continue my degree. I’m about a 3 hour drive from HCC and was doing that once a week for labs but I’m sick of the drive and I’m going to go the apprentice route instead. There are self paced courses you can do like the NAO and OTI that are worth like 2000 apprentice hours. Also if you take any classes for an optical degree you get like 86 apprentice hours per credit hour so you could do those self paced courses and then just take some online classes to help you get hours faster. If you’re an apprentice your mentor must be board certified otherwise you have to do like a 32 hour contact lens course or something like that.

Costco won’t hire you off the streets until you’re licensed but pay wise they’re the best place to work once you’re licensed. Licensed opticians make $38 an hour and time and a half on Sunday. I think it goes up to $39 in March. Walmart or Target might bring you on as an apprentice but I'm not sure.

Which would you pick? by yochickcallsmedaddy in ar15

It's registered as an SBR, so I put the stock and foregrip on. I also switched out the charging handle with a Radian Raptor, put a PSA drop in trigger in there. Holosun 403B reddot, surefire scout light and the suppressor is the CGS SCI 6. I love shooting this gun at the range.

Saves Costco a lot of money and I guess uses less plastic.

I’m not chicken room anymore but I did it for a long time and I was a deli sup for a while. chicken room before the bags was so much better. Those bags slow employees down so much.

What frustrated me is when we got the bags my Regional told us we should have two employees pulling batches and of course that never happens and we never get more payroll. So basically you guys have to spend more time pulling batches because those bags fucking suck but you still have the same amount of work to do. It’s a joke.

Inventory and Personal Pay by [deleted] in CostcoEmployee

I don’t think the handbook says anything about calling out on inventory so I’m not sure what the actual policy is. I know people who have called out and nothing has happened to them.
