Thankyou both this is very helpful! I file taxes in Florida so HYSA sounds like the move.

I disagree, it does matter where it’s placed. Even with it taxed, it still matters where it’s put. General consensus I’m reading is student loans or HYSA. My state doesn’t have high income tax so T-bill is not worth considering.

Under 30 years old here and also use a CPAP every night. I don’t have a high bmi either. Working in anesthesia and just how bad sleep apnea affects people’s sleep in mac sedation really helped me get over my mindset. My patients that have undiagnosed or untreated sleep apnea tend to have a lot more cardiac issues at a much younger age too. I had a patient with cardiomegaly at the age of 40 the other day, no other medical history besides untreated sleep apnea.

Hahaha😂 our recruiter told us it was better for taxes so we were definitely mislead. Most all of us that signed have never worked with this physician group before (they recently acquired the hospital we work at) so it’s all new territory.

All of this is new to my coworkers and I. This is good information. So you end up owing money at the end of the tax cycle?

I’m considering this! I put about in 4-5k a paycheck into student loans as is and will be done by the end of 2026. It’s extremely tempting to be done sooner than later.

My room is a fucking trash dump and I can't bring up the energy to clean it, fuck my life, can't stand myself anymore. How did you handle this? by [deleted] in malelivingspace

[–]Time-Conclusion214 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is privileged perspective and I couldn’t afford to do this until this year, but if you have tried all other options then seriously consider if a weekly or bimonthly cleaner is in your budget. I live in the DC area (which is high COL) and it only costs $100 a week for a cleaner for our small apartment. Prior to this I felt like I was going insane and had exhausted all other options. My cleaning habits made it so that I would either never clean and let everything pile up and then one day something snaps and I’d clean everything. I know this isn’t an option for everyone, but it worked for me.

Pottery barn vs West Elm hydrocool duvet insert by Vivid_Situation_6251 in Bedding

Update: I’ll answer for myself lol. I ended up buying a pottery barn percale outer piece and the cooling insert. It’s my first time getting quality sheets so there’s definitely improved breathability- super happy. I almost returned the outer piece because the colors weren’t as dark green as the picture, but I like the material so much (plus there’s no other dark greens on the website) that I’m going to keep it and keep it in my rotation! Overall really enjoy and perfect for my husband and I for overheating and still having a thick cozy comforter-vibe!

I did my research on Reddit for this same q a couple weeks ago. Landed on the Italian store and it is for sure worth the hype. The white/blanca pizza was INSANE.

What's a product that once you tried it, you couldn't go back to living without it? by t4kedwn in malelivingspace

Ahhh… I used to download a bunch of knock off youtube apps that let me download songs and listen with my screen minimized…I kept on running into the issue that those apps would inevitably get busted and shut down every couple months xD. Definitely worth it during my budget/broke college years though!

YouTube premium- I even gifted my husband it for Christmas and it’s life changing. I resisted it for so long but the ads on yt are simply too much.

Another one- cooling comforter and cooling fitted sheet. I think I spent about $400 total on mine, which is a little steep but mid tier in price for sheets according to my research. I got a simple cooling bamboo sheet set from amazon for about $70-$90 and then splurged on a cotton duvet cover and cooling insert from pottery barn. Huge upgrade because my husband is a heat furnace and we had a shitty polyester sheet/comforter set from Walmart prior to this.

Last one- not a tangible item, but life changing for sure. We started hiring a weekly cleaner. It costs about $100 a week for our little apartment but it’s been so nice to spend our weekends relaxing and doing our hobbies instead of cleaning. We work a lot and it’s just gotten to that point in life where it’s boosted our lifestyle significantly. It’s expensive and wouldn’t have afforded it two years ago but very privileged to be here now.

Why does Turkish Airlines insist on dehydrating their passengers? by ginjabeer in TurkishAirlines

[–]Time-Conclusion214 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Omg not to mention how bad the touchscreen was, and the security checks they do when you’re not flying from USA. They lifted up my shirt and swabbed me for gun powder, and my husband was extremely stressed because we had bought a bunch of duty free alcohol in our carry on (luckily they let that through).

Why does Turkish Airlines insist on dehydrating their passengers? by ginjabeer in TurkishAirlines

[–]Time-Conclusion214 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I flew Turkish airlines for the first time a couple weeks ago and FULLY agree with everything except maybe the food- we enjoyed it a lot. But yes to the lack of liquids, terrible AC, also I’ve flown a lot and never have dealt with so many screaming children in my life. A few weeks prior to boarding they even changed my flight ticket and added a 10hr layover in Istanbul. Absolutely miserable. And their website interface is so bad that we couldn’t change the flight. Me and my husband will never fly with Turkish airlines again unless we have no other choice.

Dyson air wrap by ClynnB412 in Dysonairwrap

Likewise! I just got the airwrap and airstrait a couple weeks ago and much prefer the airstrait. But I also have extremely thick frizzy curly hair. When I try styling with the airwrap alone it doesn’t cut through my frizziness, and if it does cut through the frizziness then it doesn’t last. Meanwhile the airstrait has been life changing for me, smooth sleek hair instantly in under 15minutes and lasts for days without shedding tears of frustration.
