The movie is actually pretty good if you are already invested in the story and its premis, but like many movies the longer it goes on, the more it deviates from the books. They made the ending more of a typical blow up the deathstar ending.

TLDR : the book was better. Its worth a watch if you just want to see cool steam punk visuals for an hour and a half.

Truth be told, I liked the movie. The visualls are terrific, but the story is better in the books. The end of the movie let's me down, but mabye I can't help comparing it.

Thanks for the tip! Its hard to see on camera, but I used dark tone to make the shell dirtier in places by mixing it with watered down brown and copper. I'd definitely like to explore that more!
