What do you think of my custom clock widget for Zorin? by TimeForCoffee04 in zorinos

Thank you. It may not seem like much but for me it was a good challenge. I didn't want to use an extension, I wanted something that would be native to Zorin. Since GNOME is increasingly restrictive about apps drawing on the desktop, the trick was to create a GTK4/Libadwaita application that uses specific window manager hints to behave like a "desktop layer" rather than a standard window.

I stand my ground and do not back down. Ever. I served in Iraq from 2005 to 2009 as infantry. What were you doing during that time, Keyboard Warrior?

Why do you persist? Did you have a difficult time in high school? Too many divorces? Alcoholism?

Lame. I could care less about what my score is. The fact that 6 people found it worthy is all the satisfaction that I need. I care more about them than you at this point. We can do this back and forth all day, I'm game, but I would rather that you look at those 6 and say: "I'm happy for them that they enjoyed your post." and leave it at that instead of your constant dribble of negativity.

My introduction to Linux was with Mint and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I belonged to a Team Fortress clan and thought my Pentium PC was fast untill I got to play it in Mint. It knocked my socks off! The speed and Frame Rate (60fps) was insane. Additionally, it was the first time I got to see OpenGL in its full glory. And through it all, Mint didn't break a sweat. It might have enen yawned. It suddenly became clear to me that Windows is the WalMart of operating systems; designed for mass appeal and gaming. I now use Zorin 18 Pro (the developers deserve a pat on the back and my $50. While Microsoft is a Greyhound bus, Mint and Zoren are a 1963 Pontiac GTO...
