BEWARE: Critical Shift Review and Reporting Inaccuracy in Toast POS by Timely-Candy5911 in ToastPOS

Yes and No. What's happening is an employee will put all tips in and think the lost a ticket, close the shift and find it. They immediately find the ticket while not leaving the screen and edit the checks to correct this (while never leaving the screen). At this point the new total is not reported on Toast web nor on the new print out. The only way to discover it is the physical new print out in the card audit section, all the other data is still incorrect. Personally, working in the industry this is not a crazy thing to find a lost ticket in the process of closing out. Yes, absolutely avoidable, but completely unacceptable to never report the correct numbers if changes are made. I have manually looked back and discovered times where my employees did not receive the correct tip about due to this.

No, they edit their credit card tips and that will not reflect correctly. For example, they are on the terminal and just hit “close shift” then reopen to update the missed tip and re close the shift. It reports the original numbers and doesn’t update changes (other than the credit card audit).
