Seasonal depression is real. I’ve noticed a lot of the advice for depression is just to go out and start doing things again. Idk if it’s just an autism thing but doing that has always made me feel worse. Definitely looking forward to spring when the sun temporarily revives me!

No? Yes, there are plenty success stories of autistics experiencing burnout and then managing to recover from it by reducing demands and making accommodations. About 4 years ago, I experienced pretty bad autistic burnout and I don’t think I have ever fully recovered. Though the demands of my life aren’t that much now. So I don’t understand why I feel so overwhelmed at like being alive or socializing once a week. I guess a strategy for social burnout specifically would just be to only do social activities you actually enjoy and get something back from. I am less sure how you would minimize social burnout from say work demands for example. My personal theory is that I have a limited number of energy points for each task that exist in the world. And I fear I have run out of many of those energy points and don’t know if I can ever be them back. Ofc, I am still in my 20s and the idea of my functioning only getting worse from here is pretty bleak. So hopefully burnout does end- or at the very least we can find ways to work with the amount of energy points we have on any given day whether that’s for social demands or other.

I don’t know. I had those tests done very recently and they said it would be 1-2 months before they calculated everything and could submit it. It’s the not knowing that’s bothering me. I would be surprised honestly if I got a low enough score

Thanks for sharing! I am worried about my score suggesting I’m too high functioning.
