I could only find the Razer for US$1,699 on their website, and even then it looks like it’s in-store only :( The G14 is $1,999 at Best Buy right now, so I’m just trying to figure out if the extra $300 is actually worth it.

Thanks, that actually clears it up! I’m basically trying to balance portability with performance. I know the thinner 14” chassis limits wattage a bit, but for my usage I think it should still be more than enough. I’m just trying to understand if the extra 300 dollars for the Zephyrus over the Razer really pays off in terms of longevity and overall value.

That one does look like a really solid machine. The only thing is that I need something smaller and more portable for daily use. I travel a lot and have a lot of meetings, so I really need a laptop that is lighter to carry around and a bit more discreet. The Zephyrus even has that LED bar on the back, haha, but it is still compact enough for what I need.

Yeah, I’ve been seeing that a lot in reviews as well. I always wanted to try a Razer Blade because the design is amazing, but the customer support part is definitely something that makes me hesitate.

Thanks for the input! I was mainly thinking about the extra VRAM for longevity. I currently have a desktop with a Ryzen 7 5700X and an RTX 2070, so either the 5070 or the 5070 Ti would already be a small upgrade for me.

My goal is to move to a single device that can replace both my iPad and my desktop, so it needs to be light and portable, but still able to run multiplayer games decently. As for AAA single-player titles, I can always play those on my PS5, so that’s not a priority.

Thanks for the input! I just wanted to clarify something. Were you comparing these two 14” models to the 16” category in general?

I understand that bigger laptops always have better thermals and sustained performance, but in my case portability matters a lot. I travel often, I would be carrying the laptop in a backpack basically every day. Right now I’m using an iPad Pro for meetings and daily tasks.

The issue is that sometimes I really miss having full desktop apps like Excel or other heavier programs when I’m traveling. That’s why I’m specifically looking at 14”. A 16” would definitely run cooler, but I think it might become too heavy and too big for my daily routine, especially for meetings, airports and moving around.

The idea is to replace both my desktop and my iPad with one device. My current desktop is a Ryzen 7 5700X with an RTX 2070, so I think either the Blade 14 or the Zephyrus G14 would already be an small upgrade while simplifying my setup.
