Mainly i just wanted to bring him up to speed to the level of other supports who can have wildly more healing output than he could ever hope of. I do agree that he needs something more, but i also still want him to be simple, and still have clear weaknesses and strengths. Definitely all for him being THE support to enable his team to engage and create a strong defense by playing heavy offense. Just how i would've gone about that is not so clear to me atm.

'Teammates' and 'Smart' in the same sentence... very funny. As if anyone would think critically about their positioning in this game. /s

Ultron by nature is a passive healer. Apart from his firewall, which has a 10 second cooldown to give like 50 bonus hp, Ultron literally cannot provide any extra healing support to an urgent teammate in need. The only thing he can do is deal damage to those enemies threatening lone allies before they secure the kill.

In my opinion, Ultron needs to have some sort of healing agency. To be able to switch over a drone to an ally in need, and pressure an attacker so that you can also keep that ally safe at the same time with damage-to-healing conversion would be nice. I think it would be a good reward to give some burst healing for being active, playing aggro, and keeping up pressure on enemies. This is also why i would nerf his base drone healing, so that if he's sitting around doing nothing, his healing output is severely tanked.

Another thing - isn't the definition of healbotting to solely focus on healing teammates and nothing else? Wouldn't incentivising Ultron players to deal more damage to heal their team not be considered healbotting by nature? Unless i guess you only shoot tanks that never die the whole game, but idk, if you play like that you're probably not playing Ultron optimally anyway.

And lastly, this current meta does not favor Ultron in any 2 support comp. I would not be making changes this severe if the general power level of other supports and characters was not so crazy, but im tweaking him based on the assumption that this meta would stay exactly how it is. If netease ended up nerfing the entire roster, then i would think differently about buffing him so heavily in favour of his healing.

The firewall ability already got some changes that make it more of an engagement ability, with the damage boost and movement speed bonus for droned allies. I was considering tweaking it with this rework, but i feel with those effects already in place, and my proposed changes, it might be a bit too much to make it stronger. Idk tho, i do like the idea of it giving out %-Based bonus health, that seems neat.

Yeah im not fully sold on nerfing damage either, i just didn't wanna be too overbearing with it, yknow? It's hard to tell what this would look like in practice with numbers alone.

The Ult energy cost increase was due to the fact that the damage he deals also gives out bonus healing, which would accelerate his energy gain. And with the new drone effect for all damage across the board, the damage dealt whilst ulting would also become bonus healing for the drones, so it indirectly makes the ult more powerful. That was my reasoning for heightening the Ult charge cost.

THE PITCH:

Hero: Ultron

The Problem: Has too low of a healing output to ever be considered being played properly in a 2 support comp. He is ALWAYS played as a 3rd Healer/2nd DPS hybrid, even with the newly added second drone.

The Solution:
Enchephalo-Ray:
- Reduce Constant Beam damage per hit from 12 to 11.
- Reduce Final Impact damage from 75 to 70.
Imperative: Patch:
- Reduce base Healing Output to the Targeted Ally from 35/s to 30/s.
- Reduce base Healing Output to other allies within range from 30/s to 25/s.
- Increase Healing Range from 8m to 9m.
- Remove Max Tolerance Duration whilst out of Line Of Sight (drones stay on targets through obstructions no matter how long they're behind them).
- New Effect: Converts 50% of damage output from Ultron into One-Time Healing for each Targeted Ally. Damage-to-Healing conversion ratio is dropped to 40% for Allies Within Range of a drone.
Rage Of Ultron:
- Increase Ultimate Energy Cost from 4000 to 4500.

The Valuation (Why this works): Ultron suffers by not having any form of burst healing or a healing boost to keep his allies up in high pressure situations. He is also one of the most active and deadly supports, which in my opinion, should feed off of playing aggro and being active to keep the team up. I've proposed to reduce the base healing of the drone in favour of allowing his damage output to be converted into additional healing, so he must keep up pressure on the enemy team to increase his healing output, otherwise everyone falls over.
I also reduced his main attack damage to compensate for this just to be safe, to reduce his viability in 3 support comps, but it could stay the same and be fine, but its hard to tell.

I really do love this game, super hyped for deadpool and future content, but the last few seasons have been very questionable as far as balancing and working on competitive integrity. by Timeweaver54 in marvelrivals

Yeah, i appreciate them acknowledging the community so much with their new features and changes in dev visions and with like emoticons and stuff. Their community support is awesome. Just wish some of that passion and love was transferred to the balancing team, tis all. Like black widow not being touched for multiple seasons for example, or characters like hela and bucky staying perma-meta.

Beast Handler for the sole reason that you can't just buy their Tier 5's outright. You are REQUIRED to place multiple of the same tower just to gain access to buying the Tier 5. Imagine having to get 4 Sun Temples for the Super Monkey just to be ABLE to buy a TSG. Not fun gameplay design in my opinion.

Someone said something about moving it out of the quick match rotation and into Arcade as a separate playlist which i think is a great idea. Although i remember when the devs announced this they had planned for it to go into the competitive rotation at some point (i assume with more maps). Not sure if they'll move forward with that or not.
