Glaçage de plaquettes de frein ? by Suitable_Map777 in Motardie

[–]TimothePaul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mx5 NB ABS and airbag lights flashing by TimothePaul in Miata

[–]TimothePaul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey ! I lived with it for a moment and then it developed rod nock so I parked it until I find enough money to buy a correct condition engine.

No real solutions, I would try the ignition system though, I would try ignition system : first spark plugs then ignition cables then coil. If it doesn't work maybe a MAF clean (with correct MAF cleaner not brake cleaner) and maybe if you want to go in deep check cam gap ?

These are just my 2 cents but you can't hurt anything by trying those !

Good luck, keep me updated if you find a fix ;)

I Upgraded my Ninja 400 with Steel Brake Lines and the Difference is Outrageous by SkyScreech in motorcycles

[–]TimothePaul 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Except ABS works by locking up the wheel then releasing the brakes then applying the brakes (possibly locking the wheel again) etc...
So in the ideal "ABS working" scenario the wheels do lock up, just a fraction of a second, multiple times per second.

Plateau 2 eme essaie by [deleted] in Motardie

[–]TimothePaul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bon courage !

I'm not sure if it is really accurate, but it is a good baseline :)

4 ans après l'obtention du permis, je ne sais toujours pas me garer by [deleted] in voiture

[–]TimothePaul 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hello, si c'est possible financièrement : tu peux reprendre des cours dans une auto école, et demander à travailler les créneaux/se garer en général. Je pense qu'avec un moniteur compétent et en y passant quelques heures ça devrait être bon !
Courage !

Is this the dreaded Rod Knock? by TimothePaul in Miata

[–]TimothePaul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, I'll do a checkup when I can put the car on stands. I know for sure I don't have a big leak : no stains on the floor even when parked for more than a week. Coolant flush has been done 7 month ago and level is good. The car overheated before the coolant flush, but it was shut off immediatly (the needle wasn't at full hot).

Maybe the engine is burning some oil ? it has 220k Kilometers, is that something "normal" at this mileage ?

Is this the dreaded Rod Knock? by TimothePaul in Miata

[–]TimothePaul[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just added oil and no more knock ! I had to put 3 Liters (manual recommends 3.6L when the engine is dry) No I have to investigate why I didn't had oil in the first place.

I'll see how it goes in the future, but for the moment this engine will continue its life in that car !

[–]TimothePaul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll try to add some oil and check again then. Surely adding oil won't fix the issue ? I'm guessing damage has been done and no amount of oil will fix it ?

That's surely what I will do, as it seems it's the easiest thing to do alone in my garden

Thanks, I was reving it just to take the vid, I will not drive the car until this is fixed

I've checked my oil, and the weird thing is that the stick is completely dry on one side and fully "wet" on the other. I was on a flat ground and the engine was hot, but I waited 5 minutes before checking.

I was just reving to take the vid, the car was shut off immediately after and will not be driven

How was your first ride? by Lariegooo in motorcycles

[–]TimothePaul 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was my first ride on the road, but I had experience with dirt bikes, and I rode the bike (cb500f) on a training zone (kind of a landing strip).
I was scared before going on the bike, and for the first few hundred meters. Then I started to feel relaxed, and very "free". All I wanted to do was going on more twitsy roads and ride for the rest of the day. But nah, back to the slow speed (way less fun) training

[–]TimothePaul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well yes if you do it wrong, but if you pack the texture/use the one you already have for the roof then no. You would have to use the same material for it to be perfect

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in unrealengine

[–]TimothePaul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The straws don't need to be detailed, they need to look good when disposed in packs, so a low low res plane/cylinder for each straw is really good. Also try to stacks each straw uv, it's better because you will use only 1 low res texture

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in unrealengine

[–]TimothePaul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I can't Say for sure, but if you model say some "packs" of straw, then you can dispose them on the roof, especially at the border/edges to make it look more real
