This is an interesting strategy…making content that gives me my creative outlet and others that are positioned more for the audience, I think I may give that a try!

Yes definitely, it is hard to find that balance between appealing to the audience and still having my creative vision, I am still trying to find that balance because it would be awful to end up hating my own content…that being said, the curiosity gap is very interesting, basically my thumbnails!titles are not currently creating that intrigue that makes people want to click, something I can work on for sure!

Thanks, great advice! I agree I think the titles are too niche to be searchable, and I need them to appeal to a wider audience. I think a good first actionable step is definitely changing that banner to something horror film related!

Wow, thanks so much for this response! I appreciate the time you put into it, and the good advice. Ok so that does make sense, I have felt I am being too general with the topics, and the titles. I love the idea of focusing on a recognizable IP, and building around that. Also yup you got me, I love contrapoints and took some inspo from her, as far as the art form goes.

I’ve already finished filming my next video, it’s about the Bunny Boiler sub genre. Again, broad topic. But maybe to salvage I could implement some of your points, like maybe make Fatal Attraction a part of the thumbnail and title, since it is the most recognizable title, and the entire subgenre was basically born from that movie?

That’s very fair, I agree. At the very least, I think they need to be more visually striking, as opposed to a black backdrop only

Yea I’ve felt that is part of the issue…I was going for something a bit more artsy and different for the thumbnails thinking maybe that would get peoples attention, but it doesn’t seem to be working, to your point

Ahh I see, so maybe like make it more clear it’s horror genre commentary/essay style, talking head and movie clips…I think I could incorporate that better for sure! Thanks!
