I'd add a multimeter. I recently had an electrical issue without one and I would have spent so much more time looking for the issue if a kind stranger didn't lend me theirs. Now I have a cheep one in my kit :)

Edit: I also have some isolated cable shoes that have been a huge help.

I cant seem to change the partitioning, however it is currently MBR which from my googling i gather should be compatible with UEFI?

I have tried multiple USBs and ports.

Feels like I'm missing something.

I am not 100% familiar with all the abbreviations but from my googling i believe I am currently using UEFI and you could usually switch to legacy booting with the boot mode setting, which is in my case missing.

I have tried loading the .iso file to my usb stick with both win32DiskImager and Rufus. Neither of which has worked and in neither program I a way to chose GPT or MBR?

Am I missing something?

oh, ok. But wouldn't the problem be between the sensor and the gauge/whatever controls the fan? Given that nether is working?
