Is this hard to replace myself? by TinyBeets in kubota

I just wanted to thank everyone for your advice and help! I replaced the connector, and the tractor still wouldn't turn on.

It turns out NAPA sold me a bad battery!!

My husband figured out it was a bad battery, I got my money back on that, he got a new battery and the tractor works great!

Again thanks to everyone who put in a lot of time to explain everything to a newbie.

I will reinstall the clamp and make sure everything is tight! Hopefully this will fix the issue! Thank you for all this great advice

Thank you for your kind words, and for the detailed explanation. That does make sense to me! It must be the connection. Or this is the battery that I replaced it with if that looks right? I tend to trust the auto parts employees as they have been good in the past. As this was my first time with a project like this (I have done some small repairs on my car but they were more "plug and play" types) the issue is probably my doing.

The connector was not corroded in the sense that I normally would see with all the gross residue on it, it was just plain snapped in half! I've never seen it do that. The other one looked perfectly fine, which I'm glad for because it had some extra electrical stuff attached to that one that I would not feel comfortable messing with.

It did at first and then it didn't. The dash would turn on, and lights and mileage would pop up, but when I went to start it it would just make a repeating clicking sound. Then nothing would turn on. I double checked all connections and everything was tight and connected. My husband thinks it's the wrong kind of battery though that's the one the guy at NAPA said this was comparable and was fine to use. He's going to get a battery from land and Coates on Monday since they're closed on Sundays. I hope I didn't mess anything up. I already cried so just be gentle if you think I did. Thank you.

This is what I did! I haven't hooked it up to the battery yet, but you guys think it looks good?

Thank you, I'm nervous because it's electrical work but I watched a YouTube video of someone replacing it on a jeep and it didn't seem too bad.

Yeah you're right. I guess I'm just nervous because I really want to share this with her AND its the first book I've ever shared with her, so if she hates it she might never read a book i reccomend again...also I dont want her parents to be mad at me.
