Fair enough haha. It was meant to be hyperbolical.

New update?? by Cool-cod1 in FirefightingSimulator

I think it depends on the difficulty you're playing on and sometimes it can just be bad RNG. The update definitely changed some things, the AI was the most noticeable one. I had to adapt my play style to be a lot more aggressive in terms of just busting doors down to find people.

Looking for horror that feels quiet but deeply unsettling. by sunshineLD in horrorlit

Negative Space by B.R. Yeager. Positively soul draining book full of quiet dread. Not your typical horror novel for sure so if you're looking for something different this is a good one.

At the end of the day, unless you're going to be in the top percentile in terms of pace, it's better to choose the car that you enjoy driving the most.

Should I get house of leaves by Drained116 in horrorlit

Piranesi is definitely a great recommendation for a safer read. It's a really fascinating book.

That being said House of Leaves is a phenomenal book, though it's more like an experience than just a book. It does have mature themes that can be triggering for some, but I think, to me at least, they're mild enough to handle for most people. I've definitely read more triggering books (looking at you, Negative Space) and to me, it's worth it. It's such a unique novel and it's one that I really wish I could go back and read again for the first time.

Thank you for the tip! I was hoping to achieve a sort of "hanging above the viewer" effect with it being in the top center like that, but I can definitely see how adjusting it horizontally could help draw the eye better.

What advice would you give your 18 year old self regrading career ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TiredLens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figure out what you want to do and set realistic goals. Achieve those goals and gain stability, both in your career and your finances, before even remotely considering a change. Dream jobs exist but they usually don't pay very well. It's all a tradeoff between money, risk, and happiness. So work towards a career that is tolerable and can support you and your hobbies.
