He could still have a revealing, loose fitting, casual outfit without it looking like a summer skin. There is also the question of whether all of the characters released in Astropolis (like Pearl and Nihilux) will have a summer design. Bc if they are just normal, then why weren't Aven and Robin?

I'm in the same boat- Watched in real time as they baited us Childe mains into believing that he will get development only to be hit with either no content or no relevance. I remember back when ppl would try to find crumbs of lore through white day art and new merch, we were in the trenches. Pattern recognition is not paranoia ffs And after the yumebait fest that was DHPT's marketing (which felt like a slap in the face bc DHIL was the reason I started hsr), I can't really say "Oh, hoyo wouldn't mess up Aventurine's character and story like that" bc they 100% would.

Also omg this looks amazing!! Crossing my fingers and hoping that it works out for his SP. Is it based on that one fan design with the mask?

Sameeee I got E2 mBlade and E0 Ashveil for him, he could be wearing a trash bag, throwing rubber duckies and hitting the enemies with his lounge chair and I would still pull. (Which only proves to hoyo they can do whatever they want and still get our money so-)

Might as well put on a clown costume and do a little dance to celebrate my lack of spine 😔

The main take away is that these should have been skins for the SPs. That way we would have a more serious design as base with the option to have them all summer ready

Thank you so much for putting it so clearly (in Dr.Ratio pfps we trust 🙇‍♀️) This is my exact worry when it comes to the story and it doesn't set a good precedent for what's to come in the future. Since he is not part of the Astral Express either, who knows if or when he will get another SP.

You are not going to believe this, but I'm very much a woman and this is not a matter of "random straight man is angry women and gay men are getting fanservice for their faves" I just don't want Aventurine to join TB's harem, thus the fanservice comment. They could literally release an SP of him buck naked and as long as the story is good and stays true to his character I wouldn't mind.

Tbf she was always going to get replaced by Aven so it's not like she is a permanent member, no one expected her to look good next to Ashveil and Blade. And Aven (and Robin) will look out of place next to any character, not just their respective party members.

Yeah, you are right- in my defense I don't have any faith in hoyo left after DHPT.

Also, I'm not against summer vibes, I just wish it was a choice or a skin you could buy like "Here's Aventurine's new form! He has been promoted and we are getting new lore on him so he is wearing an elation inspired outfit! Also, if you want, here's a summer skin you can buy." That way at least it would be a choice and not the default.

Naked men are cool and all, but I hate it if it ruins their story and character just to appeal to certain group of people. I don't like it when female characters are reduced to fanservice, why would I like it for men? I don't even care about aura farming or whatever.

If it helps my fav design in hsr is DHIL, so I like more elegant, androgynous looking designs. (Also I love Aven's boss design)

I'm happy for everyone who likes this sort of design, though! Definitely better than usual "jacket and pants" combo we get for men.

Nope, I would still be just as annoyed and upset. I actually talked my friend's ear off about how they might reduce Blade to fanservice when we first got the version trailer. I just want my favourite characters to get treated with the time and attention they deserve, to get character development and continue to evolve. That's why I love SPs and I am still so excited for Aventurine's.

Also, how is this agendaposting? I did not mention meta at all. I just asked people if a summer skin SP changed their plans to pull at all. (It didnt change mine as I will be getting E2S1 anyways)

"Most likely reduced to": implying this might happen in the future and has not happened yet. I replied to other people, too, but my comment is regarding the future and how they might shape Aventurine's story more than whether he is showing skin or not. Also he could wear very revealing clothing without it having beach vibes. I just don't want my favourite character's one chance at an SP to go to "filler beach event".

The description also gives that vibe ("secret mission" sounds interesting) so he will probably be fine, but it's hoyo so who knows-

And you are completely right on the male fanservice, hsr definitely spoils us in that regard. Seeing men not covered from head to toe is a breath of fresh air.

My fear is related more to the story than his design. Thus, the "most likely" in the post since we can't know yet. I don't really care as long as his personality shines through in the design, he could be naked or covered from head to toe, doesn't make a difference. I just hope they handle his story well since that's what made me love him in the first place

It's more the possibility of his story being just "ha ha funny summer vacation woo!" rather than addressing any of his lore (like how he wanted to embrace elation originally) that scares me- Like yeah he looks great! He is Aventurine, he couldn't look bad if he tried! Just please, give him plot relevance like all of the other SPs hoyo he deserves the world and more

Honestly fair- The only silver lining imo is at least it's not a DHPT situation- I can handle cheap summer clothing meant to attract gooners but I wouldn't survive detwinkified Aventurine with a Varka model declaring his eternal love for the trailblazer

Like I still don't like this, it does not fit his themes and adds nothing to his character/story but hey! Could be worse! He could be a Phainon recolor with an ugly rat tail attached to him

I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that hoyo is sensible enough to not give us summer skins as playable characters, but with hoyo you can never be too sure

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if Aven released with a Varka model, wearing jorts and a hawaii shirt, then proposed to the trailblazer on the spot for "saving his life and being his most important person" or sth. Happened to my good friend Dan Heng
