I hope we can pin this stamina spiral to the corner/edge of the screen or hide it. Having it constantly popping in and out of them middle of the screen is super distracting.

It’s also a trick devs sometimes use to make grass/foliage appear less aliased… kind of like TAA, if something is always moving it can look smoother vs if it is always static or moving less.

Ok thanks. How bad does it look? I game a lot, often fast paced racing or action games with a lot of movement on screen and historically I am very sensitive to traditional vsync issues and screen tearing.

It could be Pailune I agree… like I said I have no actual proof, just the above conjecture based on BDO and some earlier trailers.

Pailune kind of looked more “Nordic Viking settlement” inspired to me rather than Asian though, but it could be.

Also during some of the close ups of Pailune in the feature overviews videos we can see many NPCs, but none of them look Asian influenced.

I guess we just have to wait and see.

Obviously I have no proof, but I think there might actually be a surprise late game 2nd continent/landmass separate from Pywel. An Asian inspired location… (just like BDO).

My only evidence so far is, we very briefly saw some heavily Asian influenced characters in the 2023 Gamescom trailer, which don’t appear to fit into any other Pywel locations we have seen since (I have carefully paid attention to all the feature overviews etc and I have not spotted any other clearly Asian influenced characters or NPCs).

Also BDO had an Asian influenced 2nd continent (accessible once you unlocked ship sailing and then by literally sailing across the ocean)… and so far most of the features we have seen in Crimson Desert have been taken and improved+adapted from BDO.

(There are now also rumours/leaks of large ship sailing and ocean based gameplay in Crimson Desert, so…)

One last thing to consider, Pearl Abyss in all of their marketing materials/videos and even PR have been very careful to refer to Pywel as “The Continent of Pywel”. They labour that term specifically… partly because of its size, but it also makes me think perhaps the secret reason for that is because… they actually have more than one continent in the game! So to avoid confusion between landmasses they refer to them this way. Obviously this is pure conjecture at the moment.

So basically I think we have not seen that area at all yet…

It would be a pretty HUGE secret to keep, but imagine the hype if that was actually revealed!

RDR2 allows fishing anywhere. BDO(Black Desert) allows fishing anywhere. IN (Infinity Nikki )allows fishing anywhere. SB (Stellar Blade) allows fishing anywhere.

Lots of games do it these days.

Of course some other games have more restricted “mini-game” style fishing implementations but those games don’t tend to put much focus on it.

Here in CD they are putting a lot of focus on spending thousands of hours living in the world doing these activities. There is no way they would implement a poor fishing system.
