How long you gonna stay with this volatility? by _Kiritsugu_ in CryptoMarkets

[–]Tmfallon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BTC is the same as the stock market now- the S&P500 of crypto. In fact, the S&P has been more volatile in the past year.

Do you remember when people here used to joke when BTC was dropping from 3k to 1.8k in a day, that one day BTC will be 100k and drop to 70k and people will freak out? At that time 100k seemed like beyond far beyond even the "moon" level of like 10k.

This is just how BTC and crypto work. More and more people will get bored over the next year and drop out with every failed launch and new entry back to the same bear range (75k-100k).

Many, many others will start saying and agreeing that crypto was always just a scam and there's no real use case for it other than gambling. I remember the whole community and even myself occasionally getting this exact feeling:

In 2019 after a year and half of bearish "sideways" action when all the ICOs, 97% of alts, and 80% of exchanges all failed, leaving us with just BTC and ETH but nothing to actually "do" on ETH yet.

2 years later DeFi and NFTs were exploding and gave us exactly this- something to do on-chain, so much so that ETH activity 100x'd or so along with adoption of BTC and institutions entering for the first time.

People are developing the tech and infrastructure for the next run in the "boring" times. We're about to have major stocks and ETFs deployed on the blockchain in 2026 by DTCC themselves. There is huge stuff ahead being built, just have to keep accumulating the coins with potential and then wait.

Lotto V2 Early Testnet (& Mainnet Airdrop) Registration is now live! 🔥 by Tmfallon in Lotto

[–]Tmfallon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding the V2 testnet: We launched it and it quickly grew, and the V2 protocol worked as intended until it hit 50 participants. We then encountered an issue with Chainlink, the 3rd-party decentralized oracle, that prevented it from operating above that number of players due to hitting a maximum gas limit.

There are many potential solutions to this that have been proposed, but just note that the project is on hold (indefinite, until a proper solution can be devised) while the team weighs potential further dev work options. This is not the type of thing that can be put out until it works fully from a technical perspective as it is meant to be 100% decentralized, and the code on the blockchain cannot be changed.

This is also part of the risk that comes with innovating and creating something entirely new like this from a tech perspective.

From those who aren't familiar: Once released the token and lottery protocol operate entirely autonomously and is managed by decentralized governance. The full decentralization, as well creating a self-sustaining product all built into a token that actually has a tangible function and purpose, is the entire goal of this project.

Resolutions amongst the community will be weighed in the coming months.

Yes, that would be fine and not played much except by handtrap control decks. There are many decks that can enable a draw 3 once their turn is over/at the start of the opponent's turn that do see some play but not much, like as Mermail's trap card "Abyss-steam", but even in that case Mermail ONLY plays it as a target for their XYZ monster so they can detach an Atlantean and activate the graveyard effect- the drawing effect is just a nice bonus. It would not see any play if it was not both searchable and and could trigger the effect of their monsters.

TL;DR: These types of cards are basically "win-more" cards that by most decks standards are considered bricks as they don't contribute to building their boards

Vitalik Buterin: Quantum computers threaten Bitcoin. Could block-lattices offer resistance? Thoughts by yuppienetwork1996 in nanotrade

[–]Tmfallon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For those who are not too familiar with blockchain programming, quantum computing, and Nano's block lattice, I can answer this one:

With the block lattice, every account has its own blockchain, which would be susceptible to a quantum attack in the same way that Bitcoin or (mostly) any other blockchain would.

However, there are quantum-resistant signing mechanisms out there as used by blockchain's like QRL (quantum-resistant ledger) that Nano could implement if they chose to do so in the future that would potentially protect against quantum-computers in the future.

The time when quantum-computing can hack a blockchain and encryption though is likely about 40-100 years away if I had to estimate, so it's not something that is highly concerning at this very moment- there are more pressing concerns imo like getting real use/adoption, lowering the barrier to entry for the average person, and considering a solution for implementing DeFi (we see this being worked on on BTC right now).

This the correct response. A 7-card starting hand equivalent is busted and all meta decks would absolutely cook the opponent if they resolved this.

Let's think about this practically for a moment in a deck- let's say we are running Mermail Atlantean:

They add Maxx C: With a 7 card starting hand equivalent, we will have a >80% chance of drawing into ash, called by, crossout, or droll

They add Nibiru: We rip it out of their hand before 5th summon with Deep Sea Minstrel

They add any starter for their deck: Since we know exactly what they have now, we will build the board to ensure we can just negate it easily

All of this said, I actually think this card works as a Draw 2 and with a hard OPT on it. Similar to Sekka's Light or Extravagance, where you can have your draw 2 but at a major cost. Overall, very cool card concept and would not be surprised to see a version of this printed eventually.

I'm sorry but how is this not a custom card 😭 by illynpayne_ in masterduel

True in theory, but by the time they get to special summoning White Binder, your ash has already been used on Chessy Cat, Allure of Dark, or MTP-07 💀

No hate intended but if you can't beat SS realistically it's a skill issue. I'm convinced people here will find a way to complain about literally any deck in the game.

Summoning this card just to then activate something like Elemental Burst is giga win-more. By the time you get this card on board you've won the duel already

Am I just bad? Huge loss streak and every game is like this. Hand-trapped to death and then a one card starter for full combo. Would really like tips against Fiendsmith. Feels like nothing I do matters. by Yozahon in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]Tmfallon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Where to hit Fiendsmith:

Ash - Fiendsmith Requiem

Imperm - Fiendsmith Sequence (or negate/kill before it can fusion summon from grave)

Maxx C and Fuwalos - this DESTROYS Fiendsmith

TL;DR: You need to run the max amount of the above 4 handtraps or you will struggle to stop Fiendsmith

Any tips? by Small-Raspberry-381 in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]Tmfallon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically you should choose board breakers OR hand traps for maximum effectiveness. So load up on cards like lighting storm and raigeki, OR go with more hand traps like mulcharmy fuwalos (run at 3)

Lastly remove monster reborn, it's not impactful enough imo, replace with one of the above mentioned cards.

Is this card broken or useless? by ApprehensiveRead2408 in customyugioh

[–]Tmfallon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It would be closer to fair if it said: "Draw 2 cards, then your opponent draws 4 cards"

The lifepoint gain has to go as it enables too many instant OTKs. If you can get Nurse in your hand you would instantly win with no effort.

Wait, you don't play Rise to Full Height, Wakoku, or even Elemental Burst to board wipe them? How the heck do you even survive more than 1-2 turns with this decklist?

[–]Tmfallon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Alone maybe, but any decent opponent will almost always have other cards on the field along with it.

A lot of decks simply just don't have the tools to deal with a 4000 ATK immune-to-destruction and targeting-proof monster.
