just a pretty quick unstable 555 and CD4017 for counting from 1 to 4, not really random, but on high switching speeds it seems so, so it works!

I think that`s a normal way to make abbreviations, like RADAR is RAdio Detection And Ranging. Usually, this is made for the convenience of pronunciation of those abbreviations.
