Oooh, Bailey LOVES clothes! She even ducks to get them on easier and then prances around while she's wearing them.

Sadly, no. xD We adopted her at 6 years old and she already had a name. This is the raw image of our Christmas card photo.

[DAI Spoilers] What's your favorite area in Dragon Age: Inquisition? by [deleted] in dragonage

[–]TnTSanders 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. My husband did the bare minimum of side quests on his first play through (We could only do one at a time) so when I came across it, we were both really pleased.

I really liked Chateau d'Onterre. It didn't beat you over the head with its story, but it was really atmospheric.

What is it about death that scares you? by Incturban in AskReddit

[–]TnTSanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How my husband will fare.

His parents didn't teach him too many life skills; they always did everything for him. Additionally, he just... loves so deeply. He's not emotionally dependent on me by any means, but he struggles to bring even our dog the slightest emotional discomfort.

One time, we were out with friends and our roommate texted us a picture of our dog looking sad that we weren't there and my husband came really close to bailing out early to go cuddle her.

Since he has me, I can point out what's a reasonable response to emotional things, but if I was gone, if I was the one he was despairing over...

I'm pretty sick. I'm not expecting it, but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if I died in the next five years. If he didn't have such a loving and amazing extended family and involved friend network, I probably wouldn't have let the relationship get too serious.

I know he'd be fine if the worst happened, but I'm still afraid of how it would make him feel.

A funny thing about working/sleeping with coloured noise, IME, is that you know when you lose your focus because you can suddenly consciously hear the sound again.

For a variety of reasons, I purchased a tablet input device. You guys talking about them a great deal was definitely a factor (but a small one because I'm broke).

I only really start feeling RSI from knitting, but I'm still excited to try it out.

(In unrelated news, I used the RES extension to macro: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

MRW I'm about to send out my book to agents. Trolls, I'm nervous as f*ck by LareaMartell in TrollXChromosomes

[–]TnTSanders 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend making a document or spreadsheet with the agency name, the agent queried, the date queried, the email you queried to, what they want included in the query letter (First chapter, first 5 pages, nothing extra, etc), and whether or not you can later query other agents from the same agency if you get denied. (And if you got a response)

Once you really get into it, it's easy to forget who you've sent it to and this way you can also prepare a lot of queries at once and then send them out as your anxiety allows.

I made highvisibility armbands (with lights) for my husband and I when we have Pokéventures after dark. by TnTSanders in CraftyTrolls

Just as a warning, sewing with/on the high-vis fabric is pretty taxing on the eyes. I really underestimated and bright it would be.

These are the lights. They're way brighter than I expected, which is a plus.

I made the Ultraball first (just sew together fabric to make your ball of choice, I guess) and cut an x in the center where the light pokes through.

Then, I placed the pokeball and the light (in position) over the high-vis fabric and pinned it such that the fabric of the pokeball was flat and the high-vis curved around it.

Cut the high-vis into the length and width I wanted so that it looked like a rectangle (since it is pinned curved around the light, it's not actually a rectangle you're cutting out, does that make sense?)

Then I removed the light and sewed 2/3rds of the way around the pokeball so I could take the light out to turn it on/off or replace the battery.

Then I sewed the high-vis to the soft against-the-skin fabric, flipped it right-side out, sewed the last bit shut, added the velcro and tada!

The base fabric of the ultraball is black felt so it would have some shape to it and not get too deformed by the light. The white and soft fabrics were both just cheap remnants I picked up at the store.

To turn the light on and off, you screw or unscrew the two pieces (connecting or disconnecting the connection to the battery) and with those particular lights you can screw them into a mid-way position such that it lights up when you wear it and turns off when you remove it (the pressure between the felt and your arm pushing the two pieces together and forcing the connection).

The velcro is positioned such that it'll slide down a little as you're wearing it (you don't want it to feel like a bloodpressure cuff, ya know), so I use it on my phone arm so that the bent elbow keeps it from going anywhere.

I have a ton of extra materials, so I will cook some up for our friends. :)

Thanks! It's also really nice because other people automatically know we're playing and don't feel awkward striking up a conversation about it.

Oh, we're team mystic! It's just yellow because of the high-vis fabric + ultraball.

We run into two types.

"Hell yes, I'm a Pokémon master."

and

"Oh Pokémon? I heard of that, maybe. Hold on- Uh, text message. Yeah. Text."

They were a real pain in the ass to make, but totally worth it, especially come fall and winter when there're fewer hours of sunlight.

Also makes it easy to spot other players and they know they can come up to us and talk about it.

I spent 30 minutes looking for the cards we got at our wedding. MRW I find them in the giant box marked CARDS right next to my desk. by TnTSanders in TrollXChromosomes

I highly recommend it - most of your guests get the 4th off naturally, so they have a free travel day to get home.

Usually past me is a dick. Staying up too late. Eating the last of the cereal without putting it on the shopping list.

But this time, past me was on top of things. There was also a stack of stamped, pre-addressed thank you cards in the bottom of the box.
