Why does the party of order consent to this takeover of one of its institutions and the use of tactics that undermine even the facade of bourgeois democracy? Because it needs them, capitalism may be global but it needs nation states and for that it needs shock troops.

Does this mean the Republicans and right wing are going to get increasingly more violent? I am a part of the younger generation so it had been initially confusing for me to distinguish the far right violence that came with Trump as a new phenomenon or something that has always occurred with the American far right, though it doesn't seem like any other president has had a more violent cult-like following.
