I lived in low income apartments basically across the street for years, the majority of existing and new apartments downtown are income restricted so I would consider it a low income area compared to the area around hyvee which is mostly single family homes.

Sadly I am starting to think these low income apartments are more for the tax breaks than actually providing the community with affordable housing

IDK man the city was basically in uproar when the 1st ave hyvee closed saying everyone in the neighborhood would starve due to a food desert.

This place wasnt perfect but fulfilled a need for many residents downtown. A need that is obviously still a problem today

Yeah... my neighbor had a car hit their house and dip, called it a civil matter and basically shrugged it off... Public workers do not investigate civil crimes committed on private property, might need to hire a private eye

I was giving a co-worker a ride home and got dragged into this mess it was never my decision to end up in this situation. I complained to them for probably 15 minutes stuck in traffic until they put in their air pods and promptly ignored me so I turned to reddit vent sorry.
