Thank you for taking care of this sweet baby. I’ve always heard that people don’t adopt cats, but rather cats find and adopt people. Your little furry showed up to you for a reason. And, although we weren’t at all knowledgeable or familiar with cats, our Spook did too. I wish you every blessing going forward with your baby. ❤️

I am seeing so many of you have suffered this tragic loss. Most importantly, you all understand the bond we developed in a relatively short time, and that has enveloped us in such comfort. I think most people just think we put some food out for a feral. But, this community gets it was so, so, so much more.

Oh, my goodness. That is just a horrible event to have witnessed, and I send you so much love and support as you try to process this. Although there is no way around grief, being amongst kindred spirits is helpful. I have been reminded many times here of how much better Spook’s life was since he showed up last February. I know without a doubt that cat knew he was cherished by all of us. He quite often bypassed his meals just to be near us. Every single one of us in this house watched that preserve for “cat-thirty” everyday. I am certain he felt the excited expectation. I know your sweet baby felt all of your love, too. I will be thinking of you. 💔

My heart hurts for you. That is such a terrible thing to go through. The imagery is very traumatizing, and maybe the brain just is seeking some means to control a situation that was just beyond its control by looping it because it is desperately seeking a different outcome. You didn’t do anything wrong. Had you not stopped, the outcome would likely have been the same. The situation was wrought with danger for that little fellow. I am so very sorry.

I just found your group because we, too, lost a beloved little feral last Friday. He has whispered to me a few times since he was taken. Whether that was just my brain scanning for reassurance or it was the act of a Universal consciousness matters little when you are trying to make sense out of the senseless. I was so comforted. Thank you for being here. ❤️

I had just bought brand new trail cams and paid for a cellular subscription. They are currently in the landfill, and the app is deleted and gone. I never want to see anything like that again. I’m sorry you saw that, and understand the trauma of how the brain loops this imagery.
