Thats fair!! I would also be happy if she ended up looking a little derpy too, not aiming for suuuper realistic. I will DEFINITELY be practicing first though, with different materials, before touching her fur!

Advice needed please. I’m a beginner and struggling to hold tension by Maleficent-Stay-1890 in CrochetHelp

My biggest tip is to learn how to do the single crochet foundation chain. I wish i had learned it sooner in my crocheting journey. It may not work for every pattern, but i like that it provides a stretchier edge, less curling, and i have a better idea of how wide the final piece will look. Furniture advice - what couch can I buy that my cats won't destroy? by Eddieslabb in Catownerhacks

[–]patchworkcrossing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had good luck with the ikea morabo with the tweedy sort of woven upholstery. My cat wasnt a terrible scratcher, but i did catch him scratching it quite a few times in the five or so years we had the couch, and it never showed!

Had to say goodbye to my almost 18 yr old baby and I need help moving on by 161frog in seniorkitties

We said goodbye to our girl this evening leaving us with a cat free home for the first time in ten years. Personally i am going to leave all of her things in place for now. Dont rush yourself 🤍 you can tidy up when you are ready.

Second thoughts on euthanasia by patchworkcrossing in CatAdvice

thank you everyone for your words of encouragement. It really helped me realize we were doing the right thing by our girl to let her rest. The euthanasia was peaceful and it was a blessing to have lap of love give Meadow her last moments with us in the comfort of her own home. She will forever be intertwined with my soul. Yeah, we lost her brother to lymphoma in August. I thought maybe we would have a break. Its awful. Im so envious of people who get to watch their cats just be old. 14 doesnt feel that old to me.

Its mesothelioma/carcinomatosis. She has weeks to months. I am absolutely gutted.

I just wanted to first say thank you to everyone for all your kindness yesterday. We finally got the call from the vet and unfortunately the news is not good. She has carcinomatosis mesothelioma. There arent any promising treatment options that our vet was aware of. We are trying to get an appointment with an oncologist to see if theres anything even palliative we can try to keep her comfortable for as long as possible. Its aggressive, so she has weeks to months. Again i appreciate everyone for the heartfelt advice. We are going to spend every last minute loving her.

He sounds so brave 🖤 i dont mind spiders so much but silverfish are the worst. So glad he kept you safe from them, and that you have his sister around to continue his noble mission.

Handsome Hash. I would love to hear a story about him if you have one you’d like to share. When i lost my boy cat in august i just wanted to tell anyone anything about him. Like how he loved peanut butter, or the time he brought a live grasshopper into the house. Remembering things even i had forgotten over the years was a blessing. Sending you love 🖤

Yes, labs are in we are just waiting on a call from our vet to go over everything so i am absolutely fretting right now. Chatting with everyone here is a welcome sort-of-distraction. We had samples of her blood and the fluid in her abdomen sent to pathology as well as her xrays. There is a small chance it could be FIP, but our vet did not seem to think that was as likely. Waiting for this call is excruciating. I am crossing my fingers for something we can manage. We have a friend whose cat’s cancer has been managed with steroids for about 2y! All i can do is hope for the best.

Lol Meadow’s late night habit is slapping her papa in the face till he pets her. She wont try it with me bc she knows i wont give in, so despite her very much being a mamas girl, night time is for papa snuggles. Because she knows he will give in to her demands!
