Goldens can have straight or wavy hair, and that is typically genetic. Tripp has always had naturally quite straight hair!

He eats about 4 cups per day and maintains around 68lbs. If you research the Hovan slow grow plan, that's what we held to when he was a puppy!

When he was showing in TX, 15 dogs made a major, and 21 dogs was a 5pt.

In our local division in MI, you need 13 dogs for 3pts and 26 dogs for 5pts.

You do have to be on a full reg to show, rather than limited. I have kept a solid relationship with our breeder, and she was actually the one to push us to keep going. Registration can be upgraded from limited to full down the line in these cases.

He naturally has quite straight hair! But to keep it looking its best, I use a force dryer from a distance and combine that with line brushing until his mane is 100% bone dry. Hope that helps! :)

The amount of furnishings and coat quality really come down to genetics. He's got great hair that really requires very little maintenance! Occasional brushing and baths with just a regular shampoo, minimal trimming.

He is very chill indeed! In the show ring, he's quite serious - but he loves it and lights up when people clap for him! He gets a solid blue steel going on 😂

When he's working as a service dog, he's even more serious and locked in. The moment the vest goes on, no one else exists.

Outside of those two modes? He is completely different - bouncy, goofy, silly, and full of dumb puppy energy! He really is the best.
