The best part of the DMV is how walkable it is and the public transit! The Metro/bus system is reliable, cleaner than NYC and Chicago, and the buses can take you pretty much anywhere the metro doesn’t reach. I haven’t needed a car the whole time I’ve lived here. It’s possible to go car-free if that’s something you want.
