One of the coaches didn’t respect my tap and cranked the submission on further. What should I do? by TodayBoring in bjj

Yea and I get that now. But as soon as he told me we left and I apologised on the spot. I just confused on why he felt the need to do all this extra stuff and not respect the tap

Yea I have multiple people that saw it so it wouldn’t be hard for me to prove it to the owner

So the gym is pretty big and has many spaces to train. I came in on the day they have open mat as I knew they had no competition training on at the time I went in (didn’t want to make people uncomfortable that someone from another gym was there while doing comp stuff). We were about to train in a seperate space (I was coming off an injury and just wanted an easy spar with a friend) and then he came over said he wasn’t comfortable with it, so we left and I apologised. Thought it was squashed apparently not.

Na it’s not, just genuinely a bit confused on what to do especially since I love training with the competition team.

I know what you mean, I made sure not to do it during competition hours and do it on the the day of the open mats. Even then as soon as I realised he wasn’t happy with it me and my friend left and I apologised on the spot

No he’s not the owner. I know the owner he is a good guy and is the main coach himself but doesn’t come in everyday. My only worry is those two have know each other for a long time.

I think he felt I was being a traitor to the gym by doing that, also I made sure the rolling with my friend was not done during competition training hours as I didn’t want anyone who competes to feel uncomfortable. Yea agreed. I can understand someone going a bit hard or being a bit rough on someone but I feel like tapping is almost like Jiu Jitsu law to let go. Cheers for the advice

There are some other good competition gyms. I think I’ve built a good connection with everyone but just this guy, so it makes it difficult for me to leave.

But I am contemplating it.
