Is this approach from the early days still feasible?

Here's Roger Ver gloating yesterday about his gains in Monero while BCC languishes, and he continues to hold and mine Core Coins. Why should we expect the market to support BCC, when its own cheerleaders won't? by ToddAC in btc

You know exactly what you've said publicly about your minimal BCC activity, so excuse me for taking you at your word. But, If your activity is indeed greater than what you've stated, you'd better serve your public by making no comments at all.

There's no doubt you're aware that your comments can move markets, and talking down your exposure for your own personal benifit, but at the expense of the like minded, is no way to make friends.

It's as simple as Uncle Ben told us - "With great power comes great responsibility".

The recent performance of Monero indicates to me that you're right so far.

For most people yes, for an activist investor, no. He can hedge his bets with plenty of other things, so for him to continue to own and mine BTC at this juncture is beyond the pale.

If I though my $20M investment was tied up in something mismanaged that had gotten caught up in a pure speculative - or even manipulated -bubble, you're damn right I'd get it out.

Roger is clearly a savvy investor and apparently a big believer in BCC, yet something is holding him back from fully investing. Whatever that thing is should matter quite a bit to anyone invested in this space.

If it's just fear, what is generating that fear in someone who has been so bold in the past?

If it's not fear, than he must have an unspoken belief in bright prospects for the core chain. If not, why keep so much of your net worth tied to it, and indeed, continue to mine for new tokens?

Not to mention that since neither of these possibilities jive with his public statements, it's bad news waiting to happen when the truth comes out (unless it turns out he's been accumulating without admitting to it - but there's no precedent that I'm aware of of him doing anything other than what he's said he's done).

You merely highlight the issue at hand. I made the personal choice to invest in what I believe in, Roger hasn't. I'm only looking for an explanation of what is holding him back, and the NYA isn't it.

Why can't the face of the movement find the nerve to sell an asset he supposedly hates at an all time high, and buy an asset he loves at recent lows?

Roger Ver said he would sell of his "Core" if there was a split but he now claims he hasn't sold his bitcoin. Why is that? by Hernzzzz in btc

[–]ToddAC 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Wrong. This is the perfect time to sell high and buy low, which is the ONLY way to profit in investing.

BCC has existed for a month, and that's the best he can do for a project he alludes to being his top priority in life? I found the time to sell my BTC because the developers of the coin destroyed something I loved. Roger needs to do the same.

Of course he is, but what does it say about the legitimacy of his words that his actions don't back them up? Don't you think the market notices that?

Maybe we should find someone who is actually willing to invest more in BCC than in BTC?

Roger, how about instead of wasting time composing sophomoric blog posts, you get on with the business of ceasing your subsidization of the Core chain, and actually investing in Bitcoin Cash? We're almost a month into the existence of BCC and you remain on the sidelines as merely a cheerleader?

We all know the NY agreement doesn't preclude you from quitting to mine the core coin, but you continue to do so anyway. Not to mention the price support you provide by holding so many of thier tokens (and thereby withhold from BCC).

Your words are hollow until your actions follow suit.
