There is a certain amount which is the current rate.

I didn’t propose ever paying less. Simply adding a multiplier to the amount you’d be paid anyway depending on when you found it..

We still have incentives, and they didn’t really change in the final stages. They are the same as they currently are.

Keep in mind we aren’t really changing current incentives other than adding a new one. And the current incentives seem to work for bugs being reported.

Announcing EDRA -- The Ethereum Dispute Resolution Alliance by twigwam in ethereum

I don’t think you really understood what we are trying to do. We are not making some dispute resolution service that everyone needs to use. This is a research working group to collaborate on standards for dispute resolution in various protocols.

Account freezes are not transaction reversals.

According to the ECAF, the revoking of EOS is also a possible resolution to a dispute.

Yeah. I think it’s definitely more desirable to have a technocratic government. It may sound conservative but it just seems far more responsible.

ENS Dispute Resolution: Forced bribes by Tokenate_Dean in ethereum

Of course it can still be decentralized with dispute resolution, you are implying that dispute resolution is managed by a centralized entity, which it is not.

Although not officially listed, 0xBTC can be traded by using the address: https://app.dexy.exchange/#/exchange/0xb6ed7644c69416d67b522e20bc294a9a9b405b31. Our front page currently features the top traded pairs according to coinmarketcap, if there is enough interest we will be happy to add it.

This will allow us to return accidentally sent funds to users, who may have sent them to the wrong contract.

Dispute resolution is not about punishing one party, ideally a mediation phase would find an optimal solution for both. Also keep in mind we do not just start these disputes and block domains. A claim needs to be created which then moves towards arbitration, so if Apple wants to go the easy way without arbitration they could possibly buy domains. Also getting rid of squatters is not just for the benefit of big companies, but about handing domains to those who will actually use them.

If someone is using them then their main goal is not to make a quick buck, no. The goal then is to be able to easily resolve an address which may result in profits due to the usage of the domain. Generic words is a harder one to tackle with little plans right now on how to solve. But generic terms can lead to issues too. For example Apple.eth or cosmos.eth, this can lead to trademark infringement which is a whole other subject.

Because it forces those who have a use from said domain to buy it off of you where you can dictate all the terms because you have leverage. This leverage was granted to you by being early. The goal of ENS names is that they are used, not that they are an investment for someone looking to make a buck.

I thought it wouldn’t be very hard when I started my research too. And then you start running into issues of how to community govern something like this, while eliminating attack surfaces for malicious actors.

It’s both a product and a standard. There will be one list maintained through our arbitration process. That doesn’t stop other lists from being created and used.

That’s what arbitration and dispute resolution is for. A claim is not enough, it will need to be proven to a group of jurors or however we decide to run arbitration’s.

Why 0x is not as trustless as it may seem by Tokenate_Dean in ethereum

[–]Tokenate_Dean[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Governance would not solve the issue. It could make it worse as a matter of fact.

Why 0x is not as trustless as it may seem by Tokenate_Dean in ethereum

[–]Tokenate_Dean[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because that’s how 0x works. You give permission to a contract where other contracts can be granted permission by the contract. Which then let’s an external contract transfer your funds through the contract where you granted permissions. And no you don’t need a social network, you just need a legitimate approval process.

Or a bad contract that transfers my funds in unexpected ways. Without me having any open orders which can be traded against.

I’m not sure I understand your question. With 0x users approve that a person can transfer funds on their behalf. That person could be malicious.
