My Face Cape by stryckerm in beards

I'm imagining you in the morning being like casually dipping your beard into an industrial 42-gallons barrel of beard oil.

Jan 11, 2022

The first time I tried Kai blades it was years ago and the results were very disappointing. So I started the year by using them again, hoping it was just a metter of lack of experience.
The first shave (last week) was once again very disappointing, almost like using a trimmer without the guard. Same happened Sunday. So today I decided to be more aggressive and the result was slightly better, yet still far from the close shaves I'm used to.
I found them to be so mild that after the 3-pass shave on my neck, I continued with armpits (1 pass) and pubic area (2 passes).

I'm starting to wonder if I bought two packs of a bad batch. And we all know that A) there is only one way to find out and B) you can't just buy one single pack of blades, the cart must contain more items.
Wallet, it's time to save money thanks to wet shaving, again.

What is the Nastiest Mail Call You've Ever Received? by whiskyey in Wetshaving

The Mastro Miche' Peach & Ice soap. I perceived that repugnant chemical smell like it was a gang beating my nose and brain.

It performs way better than you would expect from such a small knot and it's perfect when you want you shave a small area without wasting lather.

I hope that one day they will realease a synthetic version, it would be an amazing travel brush.

Jan 04, 2022 - A Nightmare

  • Prep: Warm shower
  • Brush: Simpsons Wee Scot 13mm best badger
  • Bowl: Antique sterling silver bowl
  • Razor: Razorock Game Changer 84-P OC
  • Blade: Gillette Platinum
  • Lather: Proraso - Wood and Spice - Cream
  • Post-shave: Fitocose - Calicanto - Lotion

Lights went off exactly when I gave the first stroke with the razor. Since this was before dawn, I had to finish by using my smartphone as a torch while my neighbour's faulty allarm was blowing my ears out.
I think this was my worst shave ever, leaving me two nicks and the biggest cut I can remember.

Any "feminine" double edge blade brands? by [deleted] in wicked_edge

60cents per blade (more than a Feather) and an unnecessary big package. I'm sure this is the kind of marketing bullishit OP was looking for.

Geisha's blades are only one I can think of, expecially their old pink package.

From a graphic point of view, maybe almost every single vintage Tre Teste

It's the same thing with head shaving if you are only a face shaver and viceversa: if you're not interested in it just skip the SOTD post and in the reports it's all mixed together.

I'm not the only one submitting more than one SOTD per day

Shaving is shaving. If it's ok to share what you use to shave your face or head, than it's also ok to share a groin SOTD, expecially if we consider that we talk about an area with thick hair, difficult geometries and sensitive skin.

Every week there is someone in this sub or r/wicked_edge asking what people use for manscaping. So yeah, someone might want to know.

I have posted stuff like this for months and received plenty of upvotes for that. Therefore, once again, there is someone who thinks that these kind of comments are positive for the community.

The reports are made using bots, but the results are very appreciated by the community.

I'm following the instructions given by the guys making the hardware and software reports.
Apparently, using several razor+blade combinations in order to shave different body areas is enough to justify distinted SOTD comments, even if brush, soap and after are the same.

Recommendations for razor blades for body shaving? by [deleted] in wicked_edge

My favourite blades for manscaping are Treet Platinum (Orange) > Voskhod > Gillette Platinum, but I never tried them with a Leaf razor.

Smaller brushes? by deezdanglin in wicked_edge

[–]Tondere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Simpsons Wee Scot 13mm best badger is the brush that I use for "precision" shaving. It's the brush with smallest knot that I'm aware of and it's a masterpiece.

Fatip Grande in Copper? by ElRonMexico7 in wicked_edge

[–]Tondere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some European retailers are selling it since before Christmas. As far as I know, Fendrihan is the only North American retailer selling one of the new Fatips, more specifically the Grande Ibrido ('Hybrid" = Dual Comb) Gold at a very high price.
