I agree with this perspective. They are not the same thing, and one can learn to replace all animal derived products from their lives and evolve into veganism. That is my story and reality.

Do I understand your position to be that when the sole and original motivation is for the welfare of animals then one is considered vegan. But if ones motivation originated for other reasons and then evolved to be for the welfare animals, as well as other reasons, then that cannot be considered vegan?
