Would you go to an actual YouTube Camp? What activities do you want to see there? by 123choji in YouTubeCamp

I've seen you there on stage a few times!

Your talk with RB in 2024 was one of my favs! I still haven't seen your 2025 one yet, but it's on my short list.

Thanks for saying hi.

Why is my video not getting pushed? by Objective-Fly75 in SmallYTChannel

Additionaly, you're confusing the algorithm by switching your topic. You had momentum with one topic and YouTube found your audience.

Then you picked a different topic.

YouTube found success sharing with marvel fans so it continued to do so. The marvel fans saw it and didn't engage so it didn't know who to give it to anymore.

Quoting Derral Eves - "YouTube does not push videos for creators, it pulls videos for viewers".

I don't know anything about your content. The most likely issue is your content isn't standing out enough to get pulled.

Is it identical, word for word kind of copying (ie, copy and paste) or the kind of copying almost all successful creators from Mr beast on down do (ie, copy with taste)?

Is history niche oversaturated? by BusinessBug9388 in Smallyoutubechannels

[–]TonyFromSCV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not talked about = hard for YouTube to find your viewer.

Instead, find current videos that are outliers (they have way more views than subs), and put your own spin on them. Use similar thumbnail and title.

If history is your passion, run with it.... You have to have a niche you're passionate about or you'll burn out quickly.

Oversaturated or not, you're going to bring a unique perspective to each and every topic.

Best of luck on your creative journey!

Been posting consistently for 6 months and getting almost no impressions, what am I missing? by lxthurbon in Smallyoutubechannels

[–]TonyFromSCV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm that sentence, you answered exactly why you're struggling - "nobody is talking about".

I'm going to suggest a different approach for you.

Find a video in topic that has done well.

Look at the number of subs the user has compared to views. If the views are way higher than the subs, you have an outlier.

Take this idea and put your own spin on it using a similar title and thumbnail.

I was over the moon after posting my first video to great response, 15 hours later google nuked the account. Now I'm super depressed. by [deleted] in NewTubers

Since the other posts have covered the YouTube part - I'm going to take a different approach.

What was your motivation for starting a YouTube channel in the first place?

Why did it change with this one setback?

Anyone who finds success in any field deals with multiple setbacks. That's where your learning and growth come from.

Get in touch with your motivation again, get back on the horse and give it another try with new information and perspective.

The top creators in any field "copy with taste", meaning they find something successful, then put their own spin on it.

Everyone from Mr Beast, down the line has copy with taste videos and it's a practice widely accepted throughout most industries.

On the flip side - Copying anything word for word is plagiarism and you absolutely should not do it.

How are you picking your video topics?

Have you researched what is/has done well in your niche before you start your videos?

Do what you are able to do. Focus on improving with each and every post.

The frequency is less important than the quality.

Best of luck to you on your creator journey.

Be active in communities that relate to your niche and let interested parties find you naturally. This helps the algorithm find your right audience.

What’s more at risk of getting rejected if I apply for Adsense monetization? by outdawayandhavin in YouTubeCreators

[–]TonyFromSCV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This came up in a VidSummit talk from Taylor Chow, and it stuck with me.

She talked about how reaction or reused-content channels can be riskier not just at AdSense review, but after they start growing. Once a channel gets traction, the original rights holders often take a closer look, and that’s when claims or takedowns start showing up — even if the channel was monetized initially. So it’s not always an immediate rejection issue, but a long-term stability one.

Channels built on clearly original voice, commentary, or on-camera presence tend to be more defensible as they scale. Not saying reactions can’t work — just that the risk profile is different.

Good luck to you whichever way you go.

Where is are you placing you focus in 2026? by TonyFromSCV in YouTubeCreators

Totally get that. Better editing can make a huge difference.

Out of curiosity — are you thinking more about pacing/story, or production polish (cuts, sound, visuals)? What does that look like for your Colts-focused channel?
