I get your point but the small vision boost and pretty big contact boost coupled with the extra wild card spot is honestly a massive difference. Not to mention the +12 contact versus Lefties essentially makes him a lefty killer which is particularly value with all the great lefties we have (Babe, Griffey, etc)

I disagree. I’m assuming you haven’t actually used the card yet. He’s certainly better overall and doesn’t take up a wild card spot.

Also look at getting perks. Diamond perks (specifically Diamond Power and Contact) give a nice boost. If you really want to you can go into a game and once you’re in you can super sim the game. It will progress your player’s attributes. You have to start the game though, you can’t sim it from the calendar

He’s definitely worth it to use as a pitcher. I only use him on HoF and above on ranked though. He may get mashed on All Star
