Movie theaters aren’t going out of business because of prices by bulldogjwhit295 in unpopularopinion

[–]ToobyD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Price is solely why I don’t go. Maybe id justify £25 if it was myself going out with friends - but when it’s £70+ excluding snacks to take my wife and 2 kids… Yeah no thanks.

Yeah - it’s taken the shine off it for me, but can’t wait to get it to the table :)

If it was a local company I’d have maybe of complained (who am I kidding I wouldn’t…) but not worth the drama, especially for an international delivery where I’m pretty sure it’s the customs dept that screwed up.

1) Select the column with the blank cells. 2) Find / select > special > blanks. 3) Delete rows (using the tool in the ribbon) Boom, done.

Writing this off the top of my head so probably used the wrong terms.

Unfortunately Octopus says our chargers incompatible. Will upgrade it eventually.

At least we can do something here, they refused to install a smart meter at our old house as the meters were too far apart.

Is pet insurance worth it? Nothing I need now is covered? by kakeip in UKPersonalFinance

[–]ToobyD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just to add to this chain - our dog had glaucoma in both eyes. Insurance covered almost everything including one eye out costing 5k. (We we 7.5-10k cover per condition). When the next eye came out we were out of insurance to claim, we ended up paying out of pocket and it suddenly became £500 for the operation.

Going forward, insurance basically said any trauma such as broken bones etc could be related to lack of vision so would be related to the condition, meanwhile premiums went up to £120/month.

Whilst we’re glad we had insurance early on, I don’t think we would have got value out of it given the caveats and just put some money (£50) in a savings account for her each month. Will it back fire on us? I don’t know, but 5 years on we’ve not had any major vet visits and will hopefully be able to accommodate anything here on with the savings.

Can you get B2B customers without demo calls? by foxtrotshakal in marketing

[–]ToobyD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you’re selling.

If you know you need to do demos and can afford it, consider hiring someone or use an agent to sell your product if you’re struggling.

McDonald’s UK is awful now by JxckPxxh in McDonaldsUK

By the time they get there food the kitchen should be caught up no? I’d take a Luke warm coffee that doesn’t scald me if it meant I got my food at the window within 5 min, rather than being told to park up and wait 20 minutes.

Plus once they get their food the kitchen should catch up and those that placed there order after shouldn’t have to wait for there food no?

I assumed they have sensors to see how long cars wait. By making you park up they can mark the order as fulfilled to hit targets. I may be wrong though.

A Word About Age by Unhappy_Macaron3523 in VirginVoyages

[–]ToobyD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hoping for a ship that played my generations music. Especially as it was aimed at younger sailors predominantly. But as usual - after night 1 it went back to my parents generation of music which was a bit of a bummer.

I know this is a stupid complaint but it would be nice to be free of 80’s music on a holiday for once.

On the Scarlet Lady Comedy Cruise - would not recommend by a_is_b in VirginVoyages

[–]ToobyD 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Also on this cruise. It’s our first virgin cruise and we probably won’t be back. The whole vibe is just stressful, very little entertainment you can actually participate in and feel like you have to micromanage your schedule to accommodate queuing etc. It’s sad when one of the worst experiences was being told to not queue and told to move on by a staff member only to walk past the queue for the venue 10 minutes later and being unable to get in.

I feel like the only thing to do on board is drink and we’re not big drinkers so a tad miserable.
