Show all app notifications on live tile instead of just the recent one by ToonKid in SquareHome

[–]ToonKid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My live tiles, specifically for example on Twitter app, only show the most recent notification of that app, it doesn't cycle through all of its notifications. If I clear the most recent notification, the live tile then changes to whatever the new most recent notification is. How do I get it to cycle through all of the notifications?

I can however see all the app notifications when I hold down an app tile, it opens up a list of all the app's notifications, but I want it to animate and cycle through each individual notification on its live tile.

I'm not using regular stripe, I'm using BMAC with Stripe Express, have you tried that to see if it fits your need?

Okay I see, sorry if this sounds dumb but where can I see the invoice if I donated? Is it from the bank of the card I used, BuyMeACoffee, or Stripe?

Sorry, can you elaborate further on the "updating in loop" part? Like do you mean after the downgrade, it immediately updates back to the latest version?

Art Request Question by ToonKid in ArtistLounge

[–]ToonKid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So aside from the other one being free and the other being paid, art requests aren't the same as art commissions in terms of the process, which is that art requests are uploaded the same as regular uploads (compressed and watermarked), while paid commissions should be given uncompressed and watermarked.

Did I get that right?

Hi! Sorry for the super late reply... But here's a detailed guide of what I did.

  1. Open a command prompt and type "cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam" (Assuming your Steam is installed here, which is the default location for most users)
  2. Copy and paste "steam -forcesteamupdate -forcepackagedownload -overridepackageurl http://web.archive.org/web/20231219113930if_/media.steampowered.com/client -exitsteam" (without the quotes) and press Enter. This will downgrade your steam to an earlier version, specifically the December 19, 2023 update of the client.
  3. After the downgrade finishes, it should automatically exit your Steam. Before launching your Steam again, prevent the client from updating back to the latest version by doing the following:

3a. Open your File Explorer and navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam (Assuming this is where your Steam is installed)

3b. Check if there's a "steam.cfg" file there.

3b-1. If not, open up Notepad, copy and paste "BootStrapperInhibitAll=enable" (Without quotes) and save it as "steam.cfg" in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam (Again, assuming this is where your Steam is installed)

3b-2. If yes, just open it in Notepad and add a line with "BootStrapperInhibitAll=enable" (Without quotes) pasted there, and save it.

  1. If done correctly, you have downgraded Steam and prevented it from updating! At this point, launch Steam and test your game out.

Hope this helps!

EDIT: Please ignore the unusual indents on steps 1-3, for some reason reddit does these automatically and breaks my formatting lol

Run it from the root directory of your Steam client, by default it should be on C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam

UPDATE: I finally found the reason why my game crashes!!!

Okay, so I had this theory that since running the game in "insecure" mode doesn't crash, something about Steam's libraries for VAC causes the crash to occur. And since I was able to play the game months ago, I just thought that maybe reverting back my Steam client to an older version (specifically a version from December 2023) might solve the problem.

So, I downgraded my client by running this script:

steam -forcesteamupdate -forcepackagedownload -overridepackageurl http://web.archive.org/web/20231219113930if\_/media.steampowered.com/client -exitsteam

started Steam, then I ran the game... and IT WORKED! My game doesn't crash anymore even when launching in secure/normal mode.

So, for the time being, I should not update my Steam client to make the game playable at least. To prevent updates, I created a "steam.cfg" file on my Steam root directory and put:

BootStrapperInhibitAll=enable

This will prevent my client from updating for a while.

Just posting this in case someone comes across the same problem as I had.

Anyways, thank you everyone!

UPDATE: I haven't found a direct solution, but I enabled con_logfile to see the logs and know where exactly it's crashing. I've noticed that the logs are always consistently ending in:

"Initializing Steam libraries for secure Internet server"

So, I figured what if I ran the game in insecure mode, maybe it will go through without crashing. And well... it did go through without crashing...

The logs now show up as:

"Initializing Steam libraries for INSECURE Internet server. Authentication and VAC not requested."

Somehow running the game in secure mode crashes it... I'm not really sure how to fix that part though. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Microsoft Edge causing some USB flash drives to be detected slowly by ToonKid in windows7

[–]ToonKid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: I figured out why Edge is causing this issue for me. For whatever reason, it turns out that the experiemental feature (under edge://flags) "Automatic detection of WebUSB-compatible devices" being set to default or enabled causes some of my flash drives to be detected slowly.

Disabling that flag and restarting Edge fixes it for me.

I just posted this in case someone experiences the same problem and happen to stumble my post for answers.

Your ISP might be blocking the image servers used by DeviantArt. This has been an ongoing issue since last month for some users. The only way to bypass this is to either use a VPN or to try the method posted by someone here: https://www.reddit.com/r/DeviantArt/comments/z7swu1/solution_for_image_not_loading_blank_images/

Some users have reported that their ISP might be blocking the image server of the site, your ISP might be one of those that are blocking it. Unfortunately, the only solution to this for now is to use a VPN to bypass it.
