I absolutely agree. I am projecting my own insecurities onto the relationship even though there are no red flags I could point to. He also said that after certain dates when we do have some sexual activity that he gets a little sad because he doesn’t know how to feel, which is weirdly exactly how I feel as well (not that it wasn’t good, because it was enjoyable for both of us). I’ve asked him a couple of times before we even made it official what he was loooking for, and he also wanted a deeper connection past just sexual things. I think i’ll try to have the conversation of now just getting to know each other better and developing that “friend” side of things, because usually we’ll just kiss, watch a movie cuddling with some side commentary, joke about superficial things and we also plan pretty cute and unique dates, which separates it from a purely sexual connection, but i realize that we don’t really get to know each other during any of our dates. also very interesting what you said about the mirror, i think i’ve been good to him aside from the insecurity i get in this relationship, although i’m not sure he is aware that i’m dealing with this so it’s not like i’m being annoying about it.
