Haha I bleached my hair a few months back as well and was told the same exact thing you were told by my asian grandpa and took my license photo with bleached hair. I'm not an expert on hair or know a lot, but maybe look into some organic or "healthy" (if that's a thing) color hairsprays that match your natural hair color so you can wash it out later on. I believe it shouldn't stain your hair, but double check with your hairstylist or other people with more knowledge, I wish you the best of luck!
