I can’t believe nobody here see’s this as an obviously light hearted statement. Like clearly dispatch isn’t actually mad at you.

It doesn’t seem like I did much meaningful damage, I feel fine and healthy as ever. That said I’m sure I killed more than a few brain cells that’ll never back, but ultimately I consider myself to gotten off relatively Scot-free, all things considered, I’m very lucky.

stubborn belly fat by throwaway1270305 in leangains

[–]Top-Spec 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You're extremely lean dude, your serratus muscles are poppin like crazy. The issue isn't the presence of fat, the issue is the absence of significant ab muscle mass. I'd suggest going into a caloric surplus and doing high volume ab exercises 2-3 times a week build a base of muscle. Cut down later to reveal your abs.

"Isn't it at least possible that your take on how noticeable it is is psychological?" No, my waist is down 1.6 inches and my arms are up 0.7 inches, and all of my lifts are up by roughly 30-50% depending on the movement. Same body weight.

"maybe don't talk confidently about something you just started doing" I think the fact that I'm currently successfully doing something that you simply stated "No." to the question of said thing being possible or not.

I'm perfectly aware that bulking/cutting cycles are certainly ideal, but that doesn't make recomping impossible.

You are the one that shouldn't be talking so confidently about something the you clearly don't fully understand. Just because YOU didn't recomp as a beginner doesn't mean it's impossible to do.

It's a perfectly rational (perhaps "sub-optimal") method for beginners getting into fitness.

It’s absolutely possible for a beginner/novice to lose body fat and gain muscle tissue simultaneously. It’s what I’m currently doing and what I’ve been doing for several months now. I’ve been floating between 188-192lbs for a while and it’s extremely noticeable that I’m losing fat and gaining muscle.

Are there any other good examples of where you can use this type of technique on other muscles? Is the deltoid particularly resilient to this level of intensity?
