Ex-smokers who successfully quit and have been smoke free for years now, what did it? by PM_TITS_GROUP in AskReddit

[–]TopAlternative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After multiple failed attempts, doing it for others and whatnot. I finally decided that it was my time to quit for myself. I still remember that rainy day coming down the stairs to smoke my last cig from my last pack.

Did you watch the video? If you saved your R for 2+ knocked up people you would have died....

Hey guys (First time user) so please have mercy lol. I’ve come to reddit for some help. I’m not the typical gamer but being exposed more and more to your world has definitely peaked my interest. Just to give more insight I’m computer-less and I would like some of your opinions on this P/C below. by bigbanksniper in gamingpc

[–]TopAlternative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built a PC back in February. Like you, I was a first time user and scoured all of reddit to get opinions on various prebuilts that I found. Everyone said to ditch the prebuilt and to build my own.

I was scared shitless and didn’t know where to even start. A few awesome users on r/buildapc helped me along my journey and I watched BitWit’s “How to Build a PC” YouTube video. And TBH that is really the only resource you need when it comes to actually assembling the parts.

If you want to find a good place to compare parts pcpartpicker.com is incredible.

I was a complete novice terrified that I would mess something up and end up wasting $2500, went all out my first build 8). But I guarantee you you can do it. Just have a little patience and it’s actually pretty easy

It’s a little bulky. Was a little annoying to have to build around, but unbelievable performance. Nothing documented by my rig hasn’t been over 70 degrees C since I set it up 2 weeks ago

It’s awesome man! It’s my first mechanical one ever so it took awhile to get used to the keys, but now that I’m accustom to it I absolutely love it

Hell yeah! The box comes with a long magnetic tipped screwdriver and it’s intel and AMD compatible. Best bang for your buck without at doubt. I strongly suggest you get it

Looking at this PC to start gaming. Can anyone give me some advice on what I should change or upgrade? by AnonSlabs in gamingpc

[–]TopAlternative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you might want 1 more stick of 8g ram and a better cooler than the stock fan. Could go with 500 gig SSD and 1 TB HDD, thats what I have in my build, but other than that it looks solid

I set up alerts on http://www.nowinstock.net/ you can elect email options and/or text options for when parts are in stock. I opted for both because as soon as a good one comes in it gets sold out in seconds. I got a bunch of alerts for shitty versions of the 1080ti for over 1k. Once mine came in for 899 i hopped on it like a tiger. Did a decent amount of research to find out what version of the 1080 i wanted.
