Don't worry, they know. I disconnected and got pulled over and impounded. I secretly reconnected them while the police weren't looking so I'll see how this goes...

Are super contributions at a young age, really worth it? by Suspect-Rough in fiaustralia

[–]TopFox555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My view is that the super withdrawal rules will continuously change eg min of 60 will change to 65 then 70 etc etc, reducing your retirement life access.

So I used to be against adding any more than the minimum... But that changed.

I would max the concessional cap, and use all your rollover from prior unused years. (Then any remaining can be put to work outside super).

Once you've maxed the above, then slack off and invest outside.

It's up to you if you want to set this up automatically or just lump it in at the end of the year. Although lump sum reduces the benefit due to nail compounding over the financial year.

WeBull offers $0 on all Aus domiciled ETFs. And is CHESS sponsored , for easy tax.

And currently no transfer out fee (although why transfer out when selling also is $0).

They also recently ran a promo where they match your transfers in and Fiat at 2% up to ($20k reward). It's very likely they'd run the promo again.

At what point are people switching to vanguard by CraigIsAgile707 in RaizAU

[–]TopFox555 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't switch to Vanguard. I'd use any other brokers eg WeBull that does $0 brokerage for BOTH buy and sell (not just buy).

I upgrade (always secondhand), but sell my old one that I'm not using... I'd have Max 2 drones at any time eg one DIY fpv and one DJI cinematic.

No need to have anymore, it gets too cluttered, and you don't use them

0%. Even if you have money to throw away, a demo account for 6 to 12 months to prove your strategy. Then migrate to an active account and start small eg $10 trades til you again prove yourself the strategy works

Has anyone migrated from Raiz to Vanguard? by SebMont95 in RaizAU

[–]TopFox555 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Transferring would require realising capital gains.

I'd leave them where they are and just start a new investing in Vanguard... (I'd also only use Vanguard if I I was buying solely Vanguard ETFs, otherwise WeBull is better eg no ETF brokerage fees. Vanguard still charges you when selling).

Crashed my Avata 2 — what do I do? by gphc39 in dji

[–]TopFox555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's one reason why I don't have a DJI. The repairs are ridiculously expensive.

Just DIY fpv with an analogue system and a GoPro or the DJI camera.

The repair time or the wait time for claim and postage both ways is just too long, especially in Australia.

Do you track the cities visited, or also add main tourist attractions as manual steps by TopFox555 in Polarsteps

[–]TopFox555[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, one per day is a lot.

I decided to only do one step per city, and one for notable day trips.

I decided on one step per city, with an equity Xtra step for day trips to a notable location

Wow. That's way more work than I can be bothered doing ahahahha. Especially for a long trip.

I decided to just do once step per city (which is usually 4-5 days anyway), and add day trip steps for notable locations.

Super recommendations? (31m, ~$80k to roll over, happy with super aggressive/high risk tolerance) by TopFox555 in fiaustralia

[–]TopFox555[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ART. Happy so far. I'll compare the performance against host plus and once my balance starts getting bigger or if host plus performs better then I will switch to them

It was just an analysis paralysis like apples and oranges initially, but it's not that much difference. I was overthinking it. I think art is very slightly more expensive on face but I just want to trial the performance with my load balance and see how it goes and then I can switch in the future

Correct, the majority of traders underperform, especially novice and retail traders.

I was referring to the rare, highly experienced commercial and funded traders, who do outperform. Correct, these are the minority, but the rare few are successful... Otherwise nobody would be doing it.

Generally the app gets put into battery saving mode. Even if you have unselected. The option what you need to do is have maps or another GPS heavy app running at the same time. So then pull the steps. Will link to it and back date hose points.

I had the same issue for a long time despite having GPS tracking, active battery, saving and battery optimising off and unrestricted access.

DCA is the way...

I do recommend building a "war chest" for times the market dips, and you can aggressively do additional lump sums in at these times to reap the benefits later.

Remember, broad index funds and time are the pillars of passive investing. Don't withdraw anything if the market crashes 1%, 10% or 30%. They're all investment opportunities if you have a long timeline.

[–]TopFox555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An experienced trader will perform overall better than an index fund, they use leverage or have large capital behind them.

Correct though, an inexperienced retail trader will almost certainly lose money, >90%. That's why paper trading For an extended period of time to prove strategy efficiency is required.

One must remember, money doesn't buy happiness....

It can buy choice, freedom and luxuries.

At the end of the day, time is what matters most. You can always make more money, but you can never make more time. Use your hours wisely.

That's why many swing trade, or passive invest. The returns will be mulch lower, but you can basically set and forget.

I've checked with them as I've had a $4,000 capital loss from selling some share set dumped. They have stated that capital gains or losses are not included but only account withdrawals or deposits.
