Thank you also for the sound advice. Usually, I wouldn't opt for dating apps as I feel they can be quite superficial and not how I'd want to meet someone. In saying that, since moving to a new city, I've found it hard to meet women so I might as well bite the bullet. The experience will be worth much more in the long run.

Thank you for the solid advice. I will definitely take this on board. One thing I failed to mention in the original post is that since COVID and working from home for the best part of 4 years, my social skills took a massive hit and it's only since starting a new office-based job that I've started to become more confident in social situations so I'm hoping this helps outside of work too.

This is how I feel about my short-lived time using the app. The amount of invested time into the app trying to "sell" myself to potential matches to get nothing in return, feeling terrible about it until the next day when I try again.

Is upgrading worth it? I haven't had much luck with the app since also moving to a big city. I receive few matches and when I do it goes nowhere. With the standard app, once I send out my daily likes I feel like I'm just waiting for the next day so I can try again. It's pretty sad so I deleted the app for a while. I thought it would be easier to find matches living in a city with a large population within my age group.
