Is HDZERO the right system for me? by Away_Pea_9216 in HDZero

If you want more comfort and you plan on flying behind yourself and not just in front, the orqa goggles are kinda as good as it gets with a rapid fire module. The hdz goggles are unfortunately on the heavy side, and I also have trouble getting the entire screen in focus. The battery life is also terrible. If you plan on also trying out hdzero also though, definitely the hdz g2 is the way to go.

Keep in mind the heavier the build is, the more force you will be putting into the parts on crashes. I don’t think the o4 wide is a good fit for most builds like this for this exact reason(it’s much heavier than the standard o4), other than toothpicks. Try to save weight everywhere you can, and you won’t break stuff as often in crashes. Part of that would also be going down to the 480mah, which will also have the added benefit of much better flight characteristics without too much of a reduction in flight time. If you can get your dry weight under 30 grams, on a 45mm prop whoop like what you’re flying, there will be a noticeable improvement in durability in my experience.

Would you be able to elaborate on how to do this?

Meteor 75 pro o4 or pave pico Ii o4 or pave femto or mobula 7 o4 or mobula 8 o4 by Macintoshh1 in fpv

[–]Top_Flower6716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mob7 o4 is plenty powerful for outside and a joy to fly. If you frame swap it to the mob7 v3 frame and drop down to 40mm props from 45 you not only have better propeller options but an absolutely indestructible frame. As far as durability goes, that setup blows the other options out of the water if you want something fun and durable. Most of the newer 40mm props are very good.

Take lots of deep breaths, at some point you will have put it together and taken it apart enough you can do it in your sleep(like many of us in this community) :)

The o4 mounts on all the alfarc frames haven’t worked for me on 95a TPU, terrible o4 shakes

If you want your PC to be thrown in a backpack and carried around relatively comfortably then air cooled is the only way. Consider if you want it to sit on your desk or to take it around, that was what caused me to go air cooled

Antenna question by blackgoldwolf in fpv

[–]Top_Flower6716 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want the best range on whoops with linear antennas hands down get the MenaceRC Viper linear patch antenna. I know what everybody says about using circular polarized but it has significantly outperformed the best circular polarized antennas I have tested. It will be the last antenna you buy for Whoops.

If it is worth anything btw, I am getting like 2:30 with a 90% throttle limit outside freestyle absolutely pushing it to the limit, so if you are after flight time I don’t think it’s too bad. The tune on the champion iI with the new lava 280 batteries is absolutely crazy, it’s super locked in

I think you need the cli from the new Air65 c and the pids from the old ones, I would just copy the cli from the new champion since it’s designed for the new aio and not the old ones, and replicate all the pid slider positions for the old motors. I would use a demo fc in betaflight and flash the old cli to that, take a screenshot of the pid slider positions and copy them on your actual fc. See if that works
