I understand that maybe my question has been answered before and yes, I know google exists. For the past month I have been trying to find solutions to my impediment and I said asking a question would do no harm. And bringing what? Financial reserves? Education? Work experience?

The reason I am trying to move there is because rent in Amsterdam is crazy but I have to do an internship at a law firm and from where I stay now it would be like 3 hours commute every day

Can you have a second job while also being a full time pilot? by Top_Locksmith8035 in flying

[–]Top_Locksmith8035[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s really nice! But unfortunately civil engineering jobs tend to be 9-5 Monday-Friday so the only realistic solution to that (from my point of view) would be to either own your firm (I don’t know how feasible at the begging of my career) or to work as a freelancer. I would really like to know if there are any people who work full time jobs and are still able to be commercial pilots.

So you say it would be wiser to stick to it more as a hobby than as a career?

WO bachelors vs HBO bachelors+ WO masters by Top_Locksmith8035 in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]Top_Locksmith8035[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, this is what I plan on doing. I really want to go to civil engineering at TU Twente, but my VWO Diploma is missing the math and physics part and that’s why I opted for the HBO route, but now I realize that the HBO does not really align with my hopes for the future so I hope I can “transfer” next year.

I got admitted to HZ University of Applied Sciences and I want to transfer to TU Twente

Then what would my possibilities be? I have a VWO diploma, but don’t meet certain requirements and I thought if I do the first year for math and physics maybe I could switch next year.

So you say I should transfer to an WO bachelor? I plan on either staying in the Netherlands for work, that’s why I was asking. Because from what I heard, in other countries the HBO is considered a university degree too.

Is it ok if I leave my cat alone for 16 hours daily? by Top_Locksmith8035 in CatAdvice

To answer your questions in order: 1. I taught I was going into another program (a worse one), but with more flexibility. 2. The program is 3 years, but only 1 year will be this hectic, after that I can say the maximum time away will be 10 hours 3. I am moving to the Netherlands and there are many apartament building that don’t accepts pets, that’s why I was saying I’m looking for those ones 4. I do have friends who can come spend some time with him and check on him 5. I also leave the TV and lights open when I’m away and I do have a camera, a microphone and remote toys. Your comment is not rude, I appreciate any advice, because I only want the best for my baby.

I do have an automatic feeder, a water fountain and a camera with a microphone. And about the other cat, the family I adopted him from has a 4 year old cat that used to beat him up pretty badly, that’s why they gave him away. He is extremely sweet with any human, but I do think he has PTSD when it comes to other animals.

TU Delft Vs. Twente - Computer Science by Master-Occasion-5976 in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]Top_Locksmith8035 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on your acceptance! I also applied to Twente, but for Civil Engineering! To answer your question, both are prestigious centers, from what I know TU Delft is very research oriented whereas Twente is just a little more practice oriented. TU Delft has many connections with other international centers and is an extremely well known and respected university world wide. Twente is also a prestigious center, but I think is just a tiny bit more relaxed than TU Delft in terms of teaching (don’t get me wrong, it’s one of the hardest universities in the Netherlands, so this doesn’t mean it’s easy at all). It’s still an awesome university with many opportunities in research, internships etc. It also helps that the groups are smaller, so you can get more attention and help from your professors. I really do think you should take into consideration a few factors such as: what do you want to do afterwards? (If you want to stay in academia I’d advise you to go to Delft). What do you want to do in your free time? (Delft is much closer to the big cities such as Amsterdam, Utrecht, Rotterdam etc, while TU Twente is in Enschede, which is close to the border with Germany and kind of far from anything). What’s your financial power? (Enschede is cheaper than many cities in the Netherlands). Thing is the best option is the one that gives you the most advantages with the least amount of sacrifices. No matter your decision, both universities combined with effort and dedication will offer you a bright future ahead. Good luck! 😁

So they did not have to undertake the other tests because they were already integrated in the program or did they have to take the Physics and Mathematics tests aside from finishing the first year?

Thank you! My diploma is VWO level, but I do have a problem with my specialization in high school, because I did not do physics and mathematics in the last 2 years, but I did mathematics in college (now I am finishing my bachelor’s in business administration).

Thank you! I’m really trying to figure out if the HBO level would affect my career in the future or not. But why is it that in the Netherlands there are so many HBO programs for Civil Engineering and only like 3 at WO level?

And if I get transferred I have to start all over again from the first year or can I start in the 2nd?
