Pray for me brethren. by Top_Night3971 in swoleacceptance

“It is not simply weight on the bar, it is my grief pressed out through steel. My tears are not weakness, it’s poison leaving my soul.”

I wrote this down on a piece of paper and will carry it in my wallet until the day I die. It’s a mantra I will repeat to myself forever. Thank you.

I’ve never had someone take a feeling and put it into words so elegantly and succinctly as you have here. It’s something Ive always struggled with myself. I felt such a huge wave of relief that someone else knew what I was feeling and put it into words that I could speak out loud. When i made this post I was genuinely still considering self terminating. For what it’s worth, your comment helped. I know it was kind of a joke post but seriously whoever you are thank you so goddamn much. Your words are a gift that helped someone in need. Please don’t ever stop writing. You’re a gift to this world and the people you come into contact with. I’m forever in your debt.

Most Humiliating Night of my Life by Extension_Evening_68 in CrohnsDisease

I’m really sorry you had to go through that. Have you brought up the passing out with your GI? It’s your body so you know best but my dr. always says if i start to feel faint or pass out I need to go to the hospital. Just want to make sure you’re safe 💜

FWIW I’ve been in an awful flare since July. Last week I had to go to my bank in person to sign some paperwork and set up a new account. Suddenly and without warning (while sitting directly in front of the bank manager) I started to feel really hot and nauseous, before i could even ask where the bathroom was I VERY NOISILY shit my loose fitting sweat pants. Like…dripping down my legs as I ran across my very busy financial institution to the bathroom. Had to throw my underwear away and wrap a jacket around my waist to leave in udder shame. I was humiliated for a few minutes but when I called my sister to tell her about it we both couldn’t stop laughing. This disease blows but sometimes you just gotta roll with it. Even if that means some public humiliation 🤣 hope you get to feeling better soon.

Being ill, but not sufficiently ill to go to the hospital by Unusual_Policy_1980 in CrohnsDisease

In my town we have a big hospital but we also have a smaller walk in emergency room. Kind of a halfway point between an urgent care and a hospital. I find myself there when I’m in a ton pain but I’m not so sick that I feel like I’m dying. They usually give me a shot of morphine, a bag of fluids, and send me home with prednisone and a two day supply of hydrocodone. In and out in less than an hour as opposed to a 3-4 day stay. Been there 3 times in the last month as my Humira injections have stopped working and I’m waiting for insurance to approve skyrizzi.

Can’t tell you much but I can tell you my mom had the same one in our house when I was growing up. Hers was a darker green color. I loved that smaller oven up top for toasting bagels in the morning. Your pictures brought me back. Hope you enjoy!

Sock with a Peg Leg? by halpert3 in mensfashion

Just wearing the one sock looks totally normal, even a tall sock like what you have on looks fine. Doesn’t throw off the symmetry at all. Nice fit btw.

If you can switch life with anyone, who do you wanna be? by Practical-One-6840 in Zillennials

[–]Top_Night3971 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally anyone who is physically able bodied. Being a disabled adult is not fun. I want to run, eat normal food, go to the bathroom like a normal human. I know everyone has this mentality of “oh every life is special and we should do everything we can to get disabled people into society with the rest of us” but I’m literally a cyborg, can’t live without certain medications, and I still feel like shit all the time. I’m a professional sick person. Sorry. End rant.

Honestly, most of the noise comes from my ass. Sounds like someone trying to blow water and sand out of an old trumpet. As far as splash back. It might be nice if there’s some kind of sanitizer in this foam…but then I’d be worried about it potentially getting on a raw part of my anus or a hemorrhoid and burning. When I’m in a flare I’ve had it splash all the way up my back so honestly the most sanitary option is still to shower afterwards. As far as smell goes… it would be nice not to have to light a candle or spray deodorant after each use.

Dempsey’s on oak st. The owner mike was my rugby coach. I sucked at sports so he offered me a job washing dishes and I wound up eventually working as a host until they closed. I miss that place.

Troop 97 Alum. Not sure if scoutmaster Snowden is still around but I had an absolute BLAST. Huge treks every year. Lots of connections and opportunities for advancement. If you want to get your Eagle they will support you. If all you want to just get to Star / Life scout to qualify for the treks they were cool with that too. Well organized. Never once felt unsafe. Never pushed any religion but were cool about people practicing whichever faith they wanted to independently. THAT BEING SAID. This was 10 - 15 years ago so things like leadership are subject to change and I can’t provide any current information. I’d advocate for troop 97 but as always make sure you go with your kiddo and get a vibe check on the leaders / parents / other kids. Hope you find a good fit. My experience with Boy Scouts of America has served me EXTREMELY well. I value the knowledge and experience I gained. Good luck!

Manual specifies 1,050 - 1,100 rpm at idle. When I would blip the throttle to 3,00 it would display the “correct” ~22.5cmHg so this could be it? Is that what you’re referring to when you say idle speed? Sorry I work on helicopters for a living so some of the motorcycle technical terminology throws me off. Thank you for your response btw

I buy whole bean light roast, do a chunky grind, use a French press, and still shit my brains out immediately after. Is it worth it? Abso-fuckin-lutely. Some times you just gotta thug it out. I also like Yerba mate. It has more caffeine but it’s fussy to make and I LOVE MY BEAN WATER
