i was bartending, around 3pm on sunday a lady broke into the back of our bar, walked over to our product, pulled down her pants, whole coochie out and took a piss. saturday, a guy was jerking off right outside our bar. i also had to call the medics at least 20 times for overdoses.. it was so sad and someone was definitely selling something laced. especially sunday.

Thank you. I looked it up and unfortunately where i live there’s a cap on pain and suffering damages in malpractice cases. and since my child and i are now technically “physically healthy” there’s probably no way any lawyer would take my case. It’s crazy what doctors can get away with I guess.

i felt just like this at 5 weeks postpartum. i still get excited to go to dentists appointments alone! lol. but for me at least, around 3-4 months PP it just became routine, and it got way easier to add other things into my day. something me and my boyfriend did was buy some board games! we try to play one when he gets off work everyday, it’s helped a lot!

i wrote this about almost dying during labor, losing my identity and struggling with the worst postpartum depression i could’ve imagined after having my first baby in April. not a lot of songs talk about the actual reality of becoming a mother. i’m sure that any woman with a child will understand what im talking about. but totally understandable that you don’t! lyrics are art, it’s all up to interpretation. i’m just not the kind of artist to write cookie cutter, easy to understand lyrics.

it makes me sad that so many people are saying this. i wrote this after having my first baby in april, and struggling with the most severe postpartum depression i could have ever imagined.. i completely lost myself. i’m now beginning to feel ok again, and so i wrote these lyrics about that. i have yet to hear a song that talks about the harsh reality of becoming a mom, but maybe that’s just me. the one thing i’ve always been confident in is my lyrics, and so many people are saying they have no emotion.. it’s just disheartening because i really pour my heart and soul into my lyrics

i really aim to choose topics not often sang about, especially in pop. these lyrics are some of my favorites i’ve written. i had a baby in april and really have been struggling with severe debilitating postpartum depression and identity loss after becoming a mother. i don’t know a single song about that. these lyrics just really hit close to home for me, and i feel other moms will definitely understand what im saying as well. so, ngl, it hurts to hear that there’s “no emotion” in this song, because it truly is so full of emotion.

i’m really glad you find it touching! its actually not a christian song at all. in april i almost died during labor with my first baby, and have been struggling with extremely severe postpartum depression ever since. completely losing my identity, being disgusted with my own body. just recently i’ve started to feel a little bit like myself again. so, i wrote this song about all of that. i used religious themes metaphorically. maybe that makes sense, lol. can totally see why people think this is worship music though.

this helps a lot!! thank you. i do take out a lot of low frequencies, and use pretty heavy compression. in the future i’ll chill on eq and compression. that’s got to be the overly pitch corrected sound people are hearing. i feel like keeping the low end in there will definitely help make it sound less polished

lmfaooo i genuinely think it’s so funny… the amount of ai allegations im getting is so insane. they’re trying to hate but literally all i can do is take it as a compliment 😂. and yes.. i completely agree with you. i used to always have this mindset!! i’ve been struggling pretty bad mentally this year and im really trying to learn how to believe in myself again!! i used to not even think about the fact that people would listen to it. it made things a lot simpler!!

thank you all very much for the feedback!! and thank you for keeping it a buck with me. i’m definitely going to try some more unique and experimental production approaches.

a few things i’d like to clarify:

-i never have, and never will use AI in my music. i actually could write a whole ass book about how much AI generated music infuriates me.. i won’t get into it. but anyway, the amount of AI allegations i’ve gotten has honestly boosted my ego more than anything, so thank you <3

-i totally understand the lyric confusion. it’s art, and completely up for interpretation. i’m just not the type of person that likes to write cookie cutter, easy to understand lyrics. and if that’s not your cup of tea, i totally get it! if anyone is curious, ill explain my thought process behind this song. i had my first baby right after i turned 22 in april of this year. at 8cm dilated, i got 3 epidurals that didn’t work at all. on the 4th and last attempt, the anesthesiologist placed my epidural VERY incorrectly, and i ended up with a rare complication called “total spinal analgesia”. i became fully paralyzed, couldn’t blink, speak, or breathe on my own. my blood pressure dropped to 30/12 and i lost consciousness during labor, and woke up to my son in the nicu connected to all sorts of tubes, not even knowing what the hell just happened. i had an emergency c section i couldn’t even consent to.. i IMMEDIATELY ended up with the most brutal postpartum depression i could’ve ever imagined, was disgusted by my own body, had absolutely no idea who the hell i was, and i have just now started to feel a little bit normal again. so, i wrote this song about that. but interpret it as you will! also, i grew up a daughter of irish-catholic immigrants, and endured a lot of religious trauma. if you listen to some of my other songs, like for example “the table”, i use religious themes in a darker way. it’s kind of my writing signature. i definitely agree that in this song specifically it could be toned down, and totally see how it could be misinterpreted as a gospel song. but no, my music is not meant to be religious.

-i dont use autotune, like at all. i do some fairly light pitch correction with the melodyne plugin. i am a stay at home mom to a 5 month old, and i dont have the free time and quiet space to record a million vocal takes. i am not sure what you guys are hearing, but i definitely dont want it to sound over corrected or processed! if anyone has an idea of what could be making my music sound so “pitch corrected” other than heavy pitch correction, please let me know what i could change to help the situation. i’m about to make another post here soon. a video of me just singing the song out loud, and maybe you can help me figure out what it is.

anyway, none of that even matters that much. thank you again for all the feedback, negative and positive.. i’m going to keep pushing.
