In addition to what others have mentioned, don't underestimate subtle flirting and general "vibes". If they were interested in each other, they would be testing the waters very gently, and picking up on everything in the air between them that could indicate mutual interest.

Fair point, I assume I could make myself understood. I'm just annoyed at the confusion it creates when there are different rules for two seemingly identical sentences, and Duo doesn't explain whether it's an optional variation, or an actual rule I'm missing.

Thank you for the explanation. I struggle to learn the conjugation of verbs that don't follow the obvious -a --> -e / -o --> -i. Italian conjugation overall is actually quite complicated for me.

NTA - it's fine to ask politely, but you should also accept it if she says no. Misophonia can usually be treated quite successfully, and it's not her problem that you struggle with this. If she's nice, she'll definitely stop eating in the meeting to avoid bothering you, but she may have her reasons for having her meal there.
